  4. State has a good amount of a winnable games. ULM, Minn, SC, Mizzou, Vandy, Auburn. Wouldn’t be surprised if they upset one of the powerhouses. 6 wins would be a good year
  5. Can Golding win 7 or how about 8? Lebby might win 4 or 5? USM will hope for 3 wins and call it progress.
  6. I forgot George county was region 3. They would drop to region 4 before Hattiesburg.
  7. The CWS is over and the book is closed on the 2025-2026 college season. Time to talk about what your team will do this season in football. Ole Miss will be really good MS State better than last season and Southern Miss will be almost back to the Will Hall type season.
  8. In region 4 it will be Picayune then some other guys, The intrigue will come from if anyone will challenge Pascagoula for their second place crown. Wayne County will play in Pascagoula in about eight weeks . That scrimmage will have a lot of eyes on it.
  9. Oklahoma for the win. When the 64 teams were selected, I don’t think too many people had them on their Bingo Card and certainly not for a trip to Omaha and most certainly not to win the whole shablang!!!! But they did it!!!

Hattiesburg back to region 4 wouldnt be a bad thing. 3 of the top 4 in Class 6a would still be Picayune West Jones and Hattiesburg. Pearl rounding out the top 4.
  12. For them to drop, 2 times have to go to 7A. Most likely would be 2 of either south panola, Warren central, Hancock or Grenada. Which if it plays out would send meridian and pearl to north state most likely. If Hancock moves up then Hattiesburg moves back to region 4 and that opens slot for most likely pearl to be in region 3.
  13. "Any given Friday" LOL. There is always that possibility.
  14. No, that was Makon. He graduated in May.

Do you see Long Beach winning a region game anywhere?

I hope Meridian and Pearl stay 7A. In 3 6a all you gotta do is beat Jim Hill and Forest Hill and you will be in the playoffs. Two wins gets you the 4th seed. LOL
  19. I know PRC got Egana from Picayune, but I don't know how much that moves the needle. That's definitely a solid prediction for Region 4.
  20. From what I am hearing on region 4, it is pretty much Picayune, and everybody else. Pascagoula lost a ton of talent and coming into the season with a new HFC and staff. Will come down to how well the new coaches do things and if the kids buy in and play. There is still some talent there, just not the level of what the last 2-3 seasons had. I suspect they will take a step back but will be tough and competitive. Gautier brings back a pretty good bit from what I told and will be more experienced at Quarterback which should help. Pearl River Central brings back some weapons on offense and arguably the best player in the region at Quarterback. That is an advantage for them. Also heard they pulled a few new kids in from the surrounding area that are expected to be big contributors. Long Beach will probably be the least talented team in the region again, but switching back to the veer as I am told they will be, could help them shorten games and keep opposing teams off the field. Hancock I believe takes a step back. The word coming out of the Kiln is that the Quarterback taking over "fits" Michael King's system better, but it is hard for me to see this kid having a bigger impact that Koenenn did for them last year. They also lost some key players on both sides, so I suspect them to be a little down. WAY TOO EARLY PREDICTION: 1. Picayune 2-4. 3-way battle between Pascagoula, Pearl River Central, and Gautier with Hancock and Long Beach being on the oustide looking in. As far as overall 6A south, I see it as Hattiesburg, West Jones and Picayune as the only 3 legit contenders. I am more excited about reclassification coming in October/November. I have seen some folks mentioning both Meridian and Pearl dropping to 6A which would make Region 3-6A a gauntlet! Also hearing Hancock could be moving up to 7A with Gautier almost a lock for 5A and Long Beach on the fringe of dropping to 5A.
  21. From what I am told, Gautier "should" be much improved. Defensively, they bring back almost everything. On Offense, they have their Quarterback, 2 Wide Receivers, leading Running Back and 2-3 Offensive Linemen coming back. 4 of their 7 losses last season were by a combined 11 points. Their 3 region losses were by 8 combined points. Long Beach is moving back to the veer from what I was told during the spring. They did lose some quality players from this past season's team, but their Quarterback I believe is back and he was pretty shifty. So him in the veer could be pretty tough.
  22. Which would mean you had a hell of a favorable schedule last season.
  23. We only had 4 home games last year as well. One year you'll travel a bunch and the next you'll have a good bit at home. Two years ago we had double digit (10) home games. That'll get you spoiled real quick LOL.
  24. That's terrible, first 3 on the road and only 4 home games.
