  1. Past hour
  2. I think it’s very possible Resurrection has a winless season unless they beat Christian Collegiate Friday.
  3. I think the north could possibly come down to West Tally and Leflore County. Calhoun City will still be there, but I am not impressed by a 10 point win over Myrtle. Biggersville is down as well. Basically, the real question in 1A this year is can anyone challenge Simmons? 1A as a whole is pretty weak this year outside of them. In my personal opinion, circle round 3 if whoever wins Region 8 (Stringer, Lumberton, Taylorsville) can win their way to that point. If I have it right, I believe Simmons would have to travel to one of those schools. That is what I believe will be Simmons’ biggest challenge.
  4. How about let's just have 10 Juco programs who all play each other in a round robin, then the champion get a national playoff bid without an additional playoff? That makes too much sense.
  5. Today
  6. Yep. When I saw Richton lost to St Patrick in the jamboree I knew that whole division was weak
  7. Yes. I believe Taylorsville will beat them. And they may even beat richton and finish 3rd. I just don’t see them beating Lumberton and Lumberton isn’t that good either this year.
  8. I wonder if that was the longest streak in the state?
  9. Based off of what I've heard, he was upset with the fact that they replaced the one playoff game with a 10th regular season game. If anything they should probably expand the JUCO playoffs because before it was only the top two from the North and South to get in and it's a 14 team league. At least have the top 3 from each half get in and give the two 1 seeds a first round bye. Have the 2 seed host the 3 seed the first round, then have the winner travel to the 1 seed for the semi-finals.
  10. It was actually a span of 26 years and 3 days, from 8/25/2000 to 8/28/2026.
  11. Honestly I'd love to see Juco football in Mississippi revamped. Let's be honest: the CC athletic programs don't bring in revenue, they are only expenses for the institutions. There is no TV money, limited sponsors, no merchandise revenue, etc. Yes, the same can be said for many small colleges, but our state doesn't have nearly as many as we have Juco programs. Stephens did what happens to a lot of people: he spoke out of emotions and didn't use his brain. He can't criticize the administration of the state association (which is essentially the arm of the CC Presidents) and not face repercussions.
  12. He should have probably used better wording to voice his displeasure. Most people in authority positions don't respond well to name-calling publicly from persons under their influence. I think he felt bullet-proof from his previous history and didn't think much about it. Just my thoughts
  13. I could possibly go back and say Poplarville. But Pass Christian? I just dont see them being in the top 10 of the best schools on the coast right now.
  14. What has Picayune done this season to say they are above either Pass or Poplarville?? We will be able to answer the question about Poplarville/Picayune in a few weeks. Maybe I am jumping the gun, but to see Picayune get shut out - at Home - for the first time in 20+ years speaks volumes. Gulfport is really, really good. They were last year, and Picayune beat them. Picayune has routinely beaten higher classification teams. So to see them get shut out, in my opinion, speaks volumes to how "down" they may be.
  15. Was his firing warranted by calling the Board of Directors "Idiots" for changing the MS JUCO playoff system? This topic can be moved to the college topic if needed. I know more of us are more interested in high school
  16. Pass Christian nor Poplarville are above Picayune. Diberville possibly.
  17. From what I watched from Friday's broadcast, I would say yes.
  18. Coast football as a whole is down in my opinion this year. You have Gulfport that appears to be on its own level, then Pass Christian, Poplarville and probably d'Iberville are in the next rung and then after that it appears to just be a pretty fair amount of average teams.
  19. Is Pascagoula going to be more run oriented? The reason why I ask that is because the new coach said he wanted to get his RB 1500 yards this season.
  20. Green and staff are in the process of changing a culture here. It may take some time but there were very encouraging signs on display in week one.
  21. Resurrection is terrible so I doubt there's any battle there. Unless I'm unaware of new talent at Resurrection
  22. Sure are. I forget that every year. I just think of them as being a "northern" school along with most of the MS Delta.
  23. I will say this. It appeared that no offensive adjustments were made against Gulfport. Now was that by design or by choice? I really don't know, but to just throw in the towel like that is just completely uncharacteristic of a Maroon Tide team. I personally have no desire for performances like that to continue regardless of opponent.
