  1. Past hour
  2. New Albany 430 Corinth 466 both stay in 4A West Point 540 Pontotoc 480-probably stay 5A Lafayette 740- probably move up to 6A I'm told that Amory and Mooreville are right at the 4A/3A cutoff Hamilton136- might drop to 1A
  3. I can't imagine any will be looking to join with the new multiplier. The association was very short sighted when they told the river parochial schools they couldn't have athletes from across the border. It's not like Cathedra, St. Al, or Greenville St. Joe's were powerhouse programs and teams year in and year out in most sports. Like most things (7 classes....) a few coaches and admins got their boxers in a twist and leadership reacted.
  4. I agree with this. Shannon would beat Aberdeen. Shannon has the ability to play with anyone. Consistently winning takes time and commitment. West Point, Louisville, Picayune, Poplarville, weren't built in one year it took consistent commitment to the kids and the program in order to be successful. There have been many "right" hires to maintain expectations of excellence. It takes a community coming together for their kids and pushing administration towards providing resources for the children and pushing staff members to work towards learning and growing. Tony Evans has one of my favorite quotes, "either you hate change enough to lose or you hate losing enough to change which is it?"
  5. What private schools are set to join during this re-class?
  6. Clarksdale probably is the only decent team in the delta this year, Shannon might be in a different level than Aberdeen are cause Shannon play harder competition than Aberdeen do on their non conf, Shannon beat Aberdeen the Jamboree couple weeks ago 25-6, don't be surprise Shannon go far in the playoffs, they do got the right coach, know the game of football
  7. i agree on each and will add that the Hogs will maybe win 2 or 3 next season too.
  8. Today
  9. Probably. I would too, but I'll be there this Friday Vott.
  10. Shannon is in a similar boat to Aberdeen in my opinion from what little I read about them in my area however I do read the Daily Journal from time to time and I listen to and check their scores each Friday. I think Shannon and Aberdeen are fighting a similar battle to one another with Shannon's probably being a little tougher due to competition from the pull of Tupelo in the area. After Shannon being down for so long its hard to get people (especially admin) back on board with seeing the importance of a strong athletics program as a vehicle for student athletes that might not ever have the opportunity to better themselves or their families without athletics. We are all blessed by the LORD with gifts and His timing is perfect in all that happens. I believe the staff that is there currently is making strides in the right direction that weren't being made in years prior. If anyone knows what football or any extracurricular activity can do in the life of a young man or woman then it should be Coach Topps. - North 4A is Louisville Kosy Senatobia New Albany, Itawamba, and Shannon with the last 3 being pretty evenly matched IMO. I dont know a ton about anyone in the delta in 4A other than Clarksdale is probably in that mix also.
  11. So he avoided Picayune/Ocean Springs on purpose? LOL
  12. PRC is also playing at Poplarville. I think PopVegas is going to be too much for PRC. I think the Hornets might win by 22.
  13. I get it. You want to stay away from Picayune and Ocean Springs. I don't blame you there.
  14. Gpt V Petal- should be good game . Gpt pulls away 35-14 Dville v Pascagoula Warriors by 21 Harr Central V Tylertown HC by 7 West Harr v Laurel Laurel by 21 Sm v Hancock- shootout SM walks away 49- 35 Biloxi v Hattiesburg Hattie by 21 Stanislaus v Pass Pass by 21 Moss Point v Gautier Gautier by 35 St Patrick v Richton- Richton is terrible SP by 21' Resurrection v Sacred Heart Sacred Heart by 35. Poor Resurrection is bad Van v Greene Co Greene by 21 FCAHS V East Central I think EC gets this in a close one CCA v Centreville Centreville by 28 Long Beach v Purvis Hoping Long Beach pulls out a close one
  15. what you think about Shannon know they didn't show up at Louisville and got shutout and Shannon not getting no respect this year now and getting overlooked, under the radar in 4A North and it not pressure on them this year it pressure on Itawamba, Corinth, they are getting all the attention to the media in them polls, talks.
  16. I agree Aberdeen #3 in the north behind them 2 teams, Aberdeen are in them media polls this season in 3A
  17. I have a ton of respect for what Coach Williams has been able to do there. They are making strides for sure. I would probably put them at #3 in the north behind those 2 right now. For Winona to dismantle Calhoun City 59-6 the way they did and shutdown 7A Southaven is stout. I know Aberdeen beat Calhoun City but Winona hot clocked them.
  18. The week everyone has been waiting for, the most hyped game of the season…. UConn travels to Hattiesburg to play USM! Eagles win a close one at home. ok, now time for the real biggest game: State at South Carolina - SC a 4 point favorite as I’m typing this. I think this a chance to be a crazy game with a lot of offense. Another test for State’s OL this week, and by far the biggest test so far for State’s defense. Columbia is a very tough place to play, and before the season I had State losing this game… but I’m rolling with the Dogs in this one. I think Kamario Taylor is a better QB than Lanoris Sellers. I am not a huge believer in Shane Beamer, and I’m a big fan of the coaching changes State made in the offseason. I think Kamario shines again and the Dogs get it done in the 4th. State wins this one 33-30. Ok, I guess we’ll talk about Ole Miss-LSU…. Tigah’s a 3 point favorite as of today. My opinion on this game is still the same as it was all offseason. I worry that this is a State-Florida 2018 situation for Ole Miss. Perhaps the emotions are TOO high that it’s not a good thing for the home team. I also think LSU happens to be the better team. I won’t be shocked if Chambliss gets it done at home, as OM has been very good in Oxford in recent years. But I have Kiffin breaking Rebel hearts walking out with a 27-20 win. Florida at Auburn - I like both of these new coaches and think UF may be better right now, but give me AU in a night game at Jordan Hsre. Florida State at Bama - can the Noles do it two years in a row? Probably not. Kentucky at Texas A&M - look ahead spot for the Aggies with a trip to Baton Rouge next week? I think it’s close for 3 quarters and A&M pulls away late. Georgia at Arkansas - if you know any Arkansas fans, be nice to them this year, they’re going to need it. This game may be a slaughter. I think the Hogs are headed for a 1-11 or 2-10 season.
  19. yea you right about Aberdeen, they gotta show us they can beat Noxubee, Winona this year to be a serious contender
  20. Who do you have at the bottom of 7A? The Jackson schools make my head spin trying to figure out what MS feeds what HS
  21. Could you PM your projections for 5-7A??
  22. Every school MDE had listed, even looking at middle schools that send kids that are currently 9th graders then 8th graders that feed specific high schools like in Jackson. Remember these are 2025 posted numbers subject to change. Private schools are posted on World news and report.
  23. Your correct they were posted on MDE in December 2025. As to the exact date and formula I do not know. Formula being was it a number posted on a specific date, rolling monthly average on or around October 1 each year.
  24. It's tough to judge the borderline schools because just a few students who opt out or in of a school can change them. I believe the numbers MDE puts on their site reflect the October figures from last year and aren't updated during that year. I could be wrong and if so, educate me please. Just remember putting two schools who are maybe five students apart and close to one another geographically in different classes and divisions is done to increase excitement, just like making 7 classes. There is so much more excitement now than before it's impossible to contain (sarcasm). Wonder if the 1.5 multiplier will increase that excitement even more?
  25. Did you take numbers on every school??
  26. It’s very hard to find elite, suffocating defenses like you’re seeing with Gulfport this year or like West Jones from a few years ago. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely teams with good defenses, but it’s kind of a generational thing especially with high school football. When you have an old starting 11 on defense that’s had a lot of playing time under their belt, that seems to be the recipe to have an elite defense. But you also need D1 talent mixed in there as well.
  27. Aberdeen isn’t in the same neighborhood as Winona or Noxubee this season. They are good but not up to their class…. Yet
