Arashatora
List is out for the winners 6a - Bray again 5a - Dowdell 4a - Isaac Smith from Itawamba 3a - Suntarine Perkins 2a - Quez Goss 1a - Ty Jones Any snubs? I think the QB from Eupora had to be in the mix for 2a. He's at 2800 total yards and 33 tds and they are 9-

L10N5
Kyzer Verner from Hamilton has 2,033 rushing yards on 176 carries with 30 TDs. Defensively, he’s made 50 tackles, 7 TFLs, and has 1 forced fumble in limited reps. He’s also just a sophomore, so I guess that might factor in. Definitely a case to be made. I'd argue that Irving deserved it for 5a.

Y'all should gave that young man rest because after this round he won't get a hundred yards. I know Taylorsville going to be on him like white on rice

TY Jones is the best player in 1A. He have 3000 yards if they ran him. Bay Spring got two other RB that tote it too. He an SEC kid.

When you're comparing kids from across the state you have to use objective measures not subjectiveness, otherwise it's not fair.
David
Congratulations to Bray Hubbard, with a shout out to all of the other deserving players in consideration. Bray might be the first two time 6A winner, and he’s worked hard for this honor. Great player, good kid, wonderful back story including honoring his Mother in receiving this award after losing her to cancer five years ago. He and his family make Ocean Springs proud.

Naw, this bout picking the best player, not the best stats this season. Ty Jones the best player in 1A by a bunch. BaySpring played a way better schedule than Hamilton. They ain't no comparison here. If Bay Spring wanted to run Ty as much as this other kid, he'd roll. But that's ok. Everybody but you know who the best player is.

Tiburon
i believe you. no offense intended ive just been hearing a lot of that stuff for years. that and “its not the kid, its the system”. ( i believe i read that here today about John Peterson.) we can do better than discredit one kid for another when our guy is not picked. The term "best player in the state" is a very vague term when placed across a state. Is it stat based, win based, offer based, career based, season based, etc. Just frustrating Edited November 13, 2022 by Arashatora

I know why Donte got Mr. 5A. I saw it first hand. He is a stud! I don’t think I’ve seen that type of college ready back before! To your point, there is alot of negative post about certain “kids” on here. Talking about how “not spectacular they are”! I think we have a fine running back down here and y’all we see him on Saturdays I promise! Well deserved Mr. 5A! I can think of a few more Picayune backs that deserved it as well!
