Big words but can anyone argue? i think they have the potential to be but everyone is getting way ahead of themselves way too early in the season. I don't even like seeing that suggested. You have to keep on getting better and we can evaluate it after the season. We have a lot to improve on.
Hightide
Looking forward too Friday night. I know last year EC kept it close the first half but this year's Tide is a totally different animal. Im just curious to see if EC can give us a ball game this year. Good luck to EC and have a safe trip over and don't forget to eat your Wheaties. maroontide06
High Tide @ 7:00! (Doesn't have the same ring as High Tide @ 7:30, but the effect should still be the same.)
Tiburon
hey, the Hornets gave us all we could handle tonight. i heard ec lost there #1 rb for the season. hope he heals quickly. we played without our qb tonight. and we lost our top rb Dante and possibly our top defender #29 tyson at lb. this game was big. the injuries could shake things up in the region. we will see. hats off to our soph wb stepping up and filling in at qb and getting it done when we needed him. i was kind of expecting another game like vancleave but we were out of sync from the get go but hung in and found a way to win. Hate to hear that! #29 is one of the best linebackers I’ve seen in a while. And of course Dante is a huge loss. Sounds like a (good) but weird game, with all the injuries. I hope all those guys have a speedy recovery!
Hightide
Good game EC. I hope yalls starting running back will be OK and it's not a season ending injury. The Picayune defense played a helluva game again tonight but our offense sputtered most the game tonight because our starting QB didnt play because of concussion protocol from what i heard so we used our sophomore wingback at QB tonight and he did good running the ball but needs some work on his pitches to the tailbacks, we are lucky some didnt turn into turnovers. But we did good enough to get the win but it was ugly in the first half.

They probably could sit out next week against West Harrison if they needed it.

foozballfanatic
I also heard that East Central RB Smith tore his achilles. I hope that’s not true, that kid was having a very good year!

Natural grass all the way that will stir the hornets nest… i dont know if turf was a factor or not in any of the injuries last night. still, i have felt the same about turf for years. i was against getting it. none of my friends agreed w me on that. i just know what ive seen despite what turf sales guys say the science is. plus its “cool” and you can sell ads on it. i remember hearing a long time ago some insane streak of years where no team w turf at home ever won the super bowl. There is empirical evidence from multiple sources that show turf is much more dangerous. This is from the NFLPA: Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries when playing on artificial turf. Of those non-contact injuries, players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass. Obviously that doesn't mean it was the case in these, but the envidence is pretty clear. Edited October 9, 2022 by Arashatora

But some natural surfaces are horrible as well. In another thread it was posted that last season wayne co lost a rb due to the natural grass field at Natchez.

A poorly maintained natural surface is never good either, I'm speaking specifically if they are even as far as condition
