msaisbandkid
They wouldn’t be standing well with the MHSAA though if they just dropped football all of the sudden.
SoJack3
Going independent. They're looking for games.

In other words they scared to compete and looking to play down in competition and not trying to get better.
coastfootballfanman
Probably best for them honestly. Football program has been bad for a while. Baseball is up and down. Basketball is competitive but basketball coach does not like to share athletes from what I hear.

If any 2A openings it's at the start of the year. Looks like Alabama or Louisiana schools if they have openings. There goes Morton to 4A in 2023 and another if St Andrew's remains Independent. msaisbandkid
Or they could all be bracing to jump to the MSAIS like St Joe, Cathedral, and St Al before them.

Travel will become an issue. Only Christian Collegiate and Ben's Ford are within 2 hr drive for 8 man. Sylva Bay closest in 3A.
TheAnswer
They’d be able to play Amite, Centreville, Bowling Green, Wayne, Columbia, Brookhaven, Oak Forest, Silliman, PCS, and Parklane. All are closer or about the same distance as Sylva Bay.

TheAnswer
They more than likely would be either 4A or 5A.

TigersFan
Well they pass the rule where private schools have to play up a classification than all the private schools may be jumping to MSAIS

I am guessing they may be changing from doubling privates schools numbers for classification vs now having them play up. Most of those numbers are 1A and thus thar would create a Region 8-2A that includes OLA, St Stan, St Patrick, Resurrection, and East Marion.
