I’m seeing all this activity about the lower level teams, but not much about 6A. I’d like to learn more about the south teams  Pearl and Warren Central so I can watch those games with a better understanding, and of course, Brandon, OG, Ocean Springs, and d’Iberville. Obviously, the higher seeds at home should be favored, but we all know the history. Give me your thoughts and insight, including the north half.

6A South Predictions: These are just some shots in the dark about how I feel for each game. Do not take it personal if my prediction does not align with yours lol

I think Ocean Springs sputters a little early and then eventually pulls away in a 42-24 type of ballgame. Pearl is a solid ball club who runs the ball well, but I think Ocean Springs will have too much firepower.

I think Gulfport keeps it close early on, but Oak Grove eventually grabs command and ends up winning something like 35-14.

I think Brandon houses Harrison Central fairly easily. I just do not like this matchup for the Red Rebels at all. I see Brandon winning comfortably with a score of something like 45-10.

d'Iberville and Warren Central to me appears to be the most evenly matched game of all the 6A south games. I like the Warriors at home, with their senior laden group. However, it is hard to ignore that Warren Central has been a perennial playoff team the past 4-5 years in a much harder region than 4-6A is/was. To me it is a true toss up, but I am going to take the Warriors in a 28-21 type of game.

I hope you're right on the d'ville and OS games. I think Gulfport and HC could be over at halftime but I hope I'm wrong! Obviously OS should be able to outscore a run heavy Pearl but like Picayune and d'ville do to most of their opponents with that ball control, they limit their possessions which can make the game close in the 4th quarter sometimes. I'm ignoring the fact that GPT beat Pearl early in the season because we all know that the playoffs is another animal! I feel like OS will need to finally play four full quarters to get the win but it's always interesting to see how a "strong" coast team matches up against a 4th seed from Region 3.  WC has only 3 losses, two of which are to Brandon, OG which is understandable. I'll chalk the confusing loss to a 2 win NWR to a bad night or a good night for NWR? I don't think WC is coming to the coast thinking they're an underdog! This is definitely the type of team that can give d'ville problems with a little more balanced offense but I will go with my Warriors at home as well! Good luck to all of the coast teams and safe travels to everyone traveling! Go Warriors!
