lionpack
Enjoying the meltdown on facebook because they can't wrap their head around why GCS players didn't make any rosters.

Tiburon
this always seems early to me with teams just getting into the meat of their schedules.

Just look at the top 50 recruits list in Mississippi and there’s most of your roster.

I almost tried to explain to them but once I saw several people try and fail, it wasn’t even worth it
s1nglewing
Isn't it MHSAA vs AHSAA?
Merlin
Most of the GCS fans on that facebook group are lacking a lot of brain cells. The vast majority of them never gave a crap about that school before this year and likely have still never sat foot on campus. After this season that school may not have enough players to field a team again. If the other private schools in the state start throwing out free tuition to lure players over what would happen. What if Laurel Christian School started up football, played on the Jones Junior College Campus, and recruited who they wanted from West Jones, Laurel, Northeast Jones, and South Jones. Go get some from Bay Springs, Stringer, Taylorsville, and Collins while they are at it. Half of West Jones coaching staff is at or a year or two from being able to retire. So take them all to coach the new team. Lets see what happens.

GCS is not a member school of MHSAA. If they want to change associations so their kids can play in an all-star game, let 'em have at it. VancleaveDogs
If they had joined the MHSAA, all the players would be ineligible.....

There are other private schools that recruit in MHSAA (TCPS, St Stan, St Patrick, St Andrew's) so the only players that would be ineligible had GCS joined MHSAA would be the few players that live out of state
VancleaveDogs
Not true TK, schools have a limited area to draw from..... that's why we lost the catholic schools up north along the river several years ago, due to players not living in the radius they were given, in state or out of state..........GCS has kids from as far away as Yazoo City which is a good 60 miles from Greenville

Old Golfer
It was Natchez Cathedral that won it, with kids from Louisana. But all the privates recruit that are in the MHSAA and they have zero regard for the 20 mile radius.
