I have been out of pocket for quite a while since we relocated to St. Martin area last spring and it has been hectic since then. However, I would like to just commend the job that Coach Massey has done at Long Beach. It’s slow but steady but he is well on his way to turning the program around! Job well done now go beat George County!

Not following you on the play calling with the Taylorsville results? Massey is doing a good job in LB though I agree

I will say that I have seen teams with really good coaching/play calling that do not live up to their potential. Coaches can only instruct players on what to do. It's up to the players to actually go execute on the field. Plus have you looked at the schedule that Taylorsville has? It is one of the hardest schedules in the state.

You are correct on the schedule it is a a little tough.Taylorsville will walk through their division schedule with ease.

That schedule is stupid hard. Taylorsville is 1a.  They played the 1a, 2a, and 3a defending state champs (all compete in 2a this year) along with Simpson (5a private) and Tricounty (4a Private) who both played for the state championship. They also played 2a Mize who went deep in the playoffs last year and a really good 4a West Lauderdale team. I think that schedule will set them up very nicely going into 1a play.

Based off of size, it sounds like Taylorsville probably had the toughest schedule in the state regardless of classification. Kudos to them for doing that and they are a 1A school.  They should be able to soak up their district schedule like a dry sponge.

Will have to look but I don't think they played Scott Central.

They played Scott Central is the fall jamboree. I also forgot about them playing 3a Magee who is always uber talented. I think that schedule will set them up for a really deep run in 1a.

The point was that great coaches can perform at their best, but if the players do not respond/execute it doesn't look good.
