  • Vott changed the title to Class 7a South 2026

There will be no changes in 2026. Those changes will be for 2027 when numbers are turned in October. I don't believe we will end up with 25 schools in 7A. I do believe there is a possibility of 3A going to 41 schools. Based on October 2025 numbers reported to MDE and depending on OLA if their numbers drop below 210. The numbers that I have seen where for 8th thru 10th which will be 9th thru 11th this fall. I only counted 1A thru 4A and upper 5 and lower 5 or so in 6m7A, 6A, and 5A. I believe Gemreenvilke will go to 7A and Pearl and Murrah will drop to 6A.

You think Pearl would shift North before NWR? On a map, Northwest Rankin is more North than Brandon and Pearl … although I think they’d pitch a fit if MHSAA tried to make them a North state team. But it’s pretty clear geographically which school is more North

Pearl and Murrah will be dropping to 6A Region if numbers don't swing back up.

Both won’t drop down unless someone else moves up. Either both will stay up or one will go down. There will be 24 teams in 7A regardless.
If both Pearl and Murrah drop then who moves up?

Greenville has a large almost 500 9th grade class. They will be moving up from what I can tell. I do question the large number but I looked at it 3 times as I looked at the bottom 6 of the current 7A list. Greenville will be that team moving up.
