I completely agree with everything said about Mike Collins and Moss Point. Mike did an outstanding job with the kids in River City and has proven himself to be a strong coach. He’s a real magician when it comes to special teams. Hopefully, the next time the Moss Point job opens up, Mike gets the opportunity to seal the deal and help bring the program back to its former glory.

Apparently you didnt see any long road games last season. They traveled very well to Bilox, Terry and Picayune. Thise were the 3 longest trips. Where did you go when they had a poor showing of fans?

Several places. I’m not talking about the singular year of 2024. I’m talking about on the every-year, regularly.

Ray Stadium historically from the 1930’s until about 10 years ago had a great atmosphere especially when it was a big game. Years back, Laurel, Jackson Central, Provine, Biloxi, Gulfport, Columbus, Greenville etc. Then in the 1970’s Goula, MP, Laurel, Biloxi, Gulfport, Calloway etc. Then fast forward to the 2000’s-10’s and the atmosphere with Oak Grove/Wayne County/Brandon etc. was really good.
Unfortunately, in the current day, attendance is low and it is not the same anymore.

I remember when Picayune played at Meridian (around 2004) and there were Meridian fans sitting on both sides of the stadium.  The visitors and the visiting band just had a section on that one side.  I reckon the home crowd doesn't sit on both sides anymore.

No, historically the E side of the stadium was the students/band on the S half and the N half was home fans.

The W side , the N 1/3 was for the visitors (about 2,000+ capacity). The middle 1/3 was the reserve seats - later and now chair-back seats. And the S 1/3 was home as well.

A couple of years back they moved all the home fans to the W side, the band and students are where the old visitors section used to be.
The entire E side is now for the Visitors (although a few Meridian fans will still sit over there).
