He is battling an infection and is in ICU at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. MRA associate head coach and defensive coordinator Danny White will replace Davis as head coach while he is out. MRA opens the season Thursday at Parklane in McComb. Davis is starting his 27th season as head coach and has won 231 games and six state championships, three at MRA, two at Brookhaven Academy and one at Pillow Academy. He is the only football coach in Mississippi history to take five schools (MRA, Brookhaven Academy, Pillow, Heritage and Winston) to state championship games.
