Sir Dub!  I like that.

I don’t believe any OG poster called for a victory prior to the game with OS last year. So, the ghost came before the game was even played as I for one believed we were likely outmatched against Mr Football.

I will always see our opponents as being less of a challenge and will smack. Nothing personal…

Whoever comes out of Region 4 better have their big boy britches on! 👀

It will be interesting to see who will be the 1 seed from region 4.  I believed Gulfport to be the favorite early on but OS has looked really good to date. Both have played respectable teams well and I favor OS at this point.

Congratulations OS on the win over OG, 👏 well played!

Thanks. Football talk. That’s all I was hoping for. I’ll be back with my take on your take. Good luck this week with long time rivals, Meridian.

Okay, back to football talk. Pretty easy to figure district 4 7A. It will come down to the October 27 game in Gulfport vs. Ocean Springs. Considering the only common opponent, most will favor O.S., but given the Admiral coaching staff’s familiarity with the Hounds and the home field, I’d call it a toss up. If O.S. continues to improve and gets an injured player back on offense, I’ll change my call. My own personal distaste with how the things were handled in the offseason makes me a bad prognosticator in this one.

Oak Grove has the skill position talent to run the table in 7A district 4. What video I’ve seen shows that they have matured from last year, especially in limiting turnovers. There is some competition in store, with Pearl undefeated heading to NW Rankin to open play. Pearl’s big win was in overtime against Warren Central. Rankin lost a close one to Ocean Springs, but looked good in beating Madison Central. Almost every game so far being of the one score close call. That leaves Brandon, who lost early to Picayune, and in a surprise, to Madison going away. Have they recovered enough to make their usual run into the playoffs? I think it comes down to them and O.G., with the Warriors the obvious favorite.

I think Brandon is finding their stride at the right time honestly. NWR and Pearl have definitely improved a ton and are quality opponents but I don't think neither is on par with OG atm. As for region 4 is their anyone worth mentioning outside OS and Gulfport? Cause if not I think OS wins that region easily.

I’m still not sold on Gulfport I can’t get over how they looked against us in the jamboree. It’s a jamboree but…. I know typical coast football when I see it. Maybe I’m wrong. I’d pick Ocean Springs to win that game right now.

I am with you on Gulfport. The QB looked pretty good in our jamboree but I haven’t seen them since so I don’t know. One positive for Gulfport is that sandy natural grass at Milner. But after watching OS D I think Gulfport is in trouble.

Agree on Brandon looking better coming into district play. OG has to minimize the illegal procedures and offside penalties. Never seen us this penalized this much in quite some time. Hopefully we get that fixed going into Meridian.  Meridian is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. Rest assured they will play us tough but we should win handily.  Brandon is next up!

Brandon travels to Oak Grove? Home field might be the difference.

For OG the X-factor could very well be senior kicker Luke Stewart. No one talks about special teams but this guy is the real deal!

90%+ of his kickoffs are non returnable into the end zone

50+ yard FGs are common given the chance. Just ask Wayne County his junior year he won it with a 51 yarder. He is stronger this year and has hit 60+ in practice

Punts are breathtaking with 4+ hang time

At Kohls professional kicking camp this spring he ranked #35 kicker and #15 punter in the nation and a 5 star in both categories.

A difference maker in a game!
