Revising regions at this point would create more issues than resolve. I think so just bad timing. Strayhorn will be 1A playing with 2A numbers. Then some coaches go 3-7, 0-4 while they go 2-8, 0-4 and make the playoffs. Someone gets a buy each year in first round.

That makes little sense The Tate County School District has attempted to close Coldwater for years due to budgetary reasons plus their declining enrollment. Families in the area filed an injunction against it and that takes time to work through the courts and get a ruling. I have zero idea what all was asked of the district but it sounds like they finally got approval to proceed with the closure. Situations like that happen and in no way should athletic reclassification play a role in how a board does business.

Rebel Bert
If said Judge's decision had been decided let's say prior to October 1 then quite possibly the district would have reported the closure to MHSAA. Then district would have reported higher numbers for both Strayhorn and Independence. 93 students were in play. Strayhorn needed 7 to be 2A. Independence needed 88 to be 4A. It's safe to say now if hwy 51 becomes the dividing line then most if not all students go to Strayhorn. If I-55 becomes the split then numbers will be more split between the 2. It's safe to say that MHSAA will not touch it until 2024.

Anyone not satisfied with the current situation, certainly can file an appeal Yes I agree they payout that court decision over the next 2 years. Who knows you can't blame the.. They could have gotten a new building built at Coldwater instead of Strayhorn.
