MAIS isn't interested in such a thing.
I am pretty sure 200% their not. We don't know what the future holds.

6 classes or Combine MHSAA and MAIS in some kind of 7 or 8 class structure. Long shot but a thought.

I will go a step further and say we could cut the number of counties in half. Three million is our total population and isn't exactly growing. Cut the number of counties, legislators, school districts, community colleges and IHLs in half and you are talking about serious savings.
50 would be a good number.

When they consolidated Wayne County schools we were fed this same line. We will close all of these schools in favor of one. At the time there were three schools operating in the county elementary through high school and an elementary school, a separate Junior High School and a high school in town. All they did was move the high school students to town didn’t build a new school instead put so much money into a school that has been there since late 50’s early 60’s. They closed None of the existing schools just made them K-8. So where did Wayne County save money? You’re still employing the same amount actually more because now it seems you have a principal for every grade. You still have all the up keep that is now more on the older buildings. Running six cafeterias buying food paying workers. Bussing students from county schools to the high school daily because all don’t have means of transportation. So I understand what you’re saying but at least in Wayne County’s situation it didn’t save money the way they did it.
Wayne County would not be involved in my thinking of consolidating counties. Those in South Mississippi that might be on my list are Perry, Jeff Davis, Lawrence, Claiborne, and Jefferson. The others would be in the the Delta, along the Tennessee line north of Oxford and in between Oxford and Starkville.

Boyles is probably setting up for a 2nd retirement. He is 60 ish or will be 60 between now and September 1. He and my oldest sister graduated together at Raleigh. He wasn't planning on coming back last time.

Mississippi has a problem of too many counties compared to Alabama. 82 VS 67 i believe we need to eliminate appx 15 counties. You can never eliminate the amount of students and roads to repair. What you can do is save on Superintendent's and county supervisor pay among a few other positions. That will help a whole lot. Yes it will take a few years for kids to adjust to a new school. You might even be able to close a few more schools pending which counties are consolidated such as consolidating Lawrence and Jeff Davis or Jeff Davis and Covington as an example. We might get Bassfield back on the books.

Kind of sort of on the county line.

State will then build new state superintendents building in Rankin or Madison County if they take over every county office especially if they can't get people to drive to downtown Jackson and park due to crime and crumbling streets.

Scott Central probably has a coaching problem or a coaching scheme. Perhaps they are not buying into the coaching style. Superintendent turnover may also be a problem county wide with salaries. You can expect coaches looking for a higher payday especially if spouse can make more money working in Rankin or Madison Counties hospitals or doctor offices, etc. I am saying not all spouses are teachers also.

Scott County/Forest Municipal #'s
Fall 24. Fall 25
Forest. 341. 343
Lake. 170. 217 (3A)
Morton. 382. 384
Sebastopol. 130. 136
Scott Central. 192. 200
Fall 2024 #'s turned in for Reclassification currently. Fall of 2025 #'s 8th-10th grades for Reclassification Fall of 2027. I want to say the falling away in numbers if any comes from 2 to schools: 1) Possibly East Rankin losing Forest area students. 2) Newton County School District has put a halt to students around Conehada area driving to Decatur a few years ago. Lake can be drawing from Newton City Schhols west of Newton.

I thought they were undersized compared to previous years. Are they going up or down in enrollment ?
Its going close but I believe they squeek in at the bottom of 2A tholis fall numbers. That tells me their losing and Lake has been gaining.

Hiring young coaches looking for a bigger payday. Along with increased crime in Scott County. I imagine some of it might be the wife gets a job at Dr's office or hospital in Rankin County or Jackson area.

And yes I can be switch some schools up. Recently when Noxubee County came south their region included Rankin County. I think Rankin County is still in play here. I can very easily switch up Region's 4, 5, 6.

Iran started in 1979 when they took our people hostages. They released them the day Reagan took office. Obama and Biden gave them millions to buy missiles. Trump was the only one with footballs big enough to stop it. Now TDs count 8 points. So yes we are in it until Trump gets his deal whatever goalie that will be

October 2025 numbers with MDE.
Moss Point was #32 of 40 for 4A. I had to get private school numbers by googling the school and enrollment or 2025-26. Moss Point was about 20 students from the bottom. They will probably stay 4A for 2 more years.

What numbers are you basing this on? I hear Moss Point numbers falling and St Patrick numbers falling. I don't see St Patrick going up but could see MP falling to 3A

Not in Smith County. We would get hard liner named Hillman whom most everyone hates or Hancock with a C or D rating both in Smith County and at Magee.

Pearl now becomes a challenge to West Jones and Hattiesburg in Region 3. Nothing changes in Region 4. Picayune, Pascagoula and the rest. Now if you are PRC or George Co which region would you rather be in? Do not figure in the travel. Just let it depend on who you would rather play
That will likely be Region 4

Ongoing discussions between the two in regards to transfers, recruiting, and umpires/refs for games. Director said voting on proposals for who refs or umpires the games will be coming up soon. I think it will have to pass at district levels and then in Clinton.
