This is a good thought. He's experienced in spreading folks out and ramming it up the middle. Should be able to adapt either of those systems. GPT has good athletes.

If I were Gulfport I would go after an assistant from a good 6A program. Someone like Greg Robinson who is the long time DC at Brandon or Benjie Merchant who is the DC at Oak Grove and has coaching in his DNA. Those kind of guys are the ones they should be targeting.

Yea from what I've watched, the OG defensive front looks big but slow. They won't be able to keep up with the speed of the Greyhounds. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised to see Ocean Springs blow them off the ball.

Like I said, MC don't want to play teams like OG out of district. I bet yal wouldn't mind playing Hubbardless OS because they would just be a regular coast team.

They are 2-38 in district games in the last seven years. Probably tired of getting teeth kicked in.

I know that they can do it. I don't think they have ever won a region game. I don't know if they have to do it in all sports or not.
