I dont understand why some think it is absurb. What is the difference in being able to practice while virtual and the MHSAA allowing homeschool students to participate?

North Panola vs Water Valley is cancelled... Im hearing that North Panola has shut down their atheltics programs for the year. Not sure if there is truth to this claim or not.

If masks work so well then why send students home that are wearing masks? Is that not disincentivizing wearing the mask in the first place. We are arguing the effectiveness of wearing the mask, and then sending healthy students home that are wearing masks that may or may not have been exposed to a student that tests positive and then not allowing them to return with a negative tests and no symptoms.

That would make too much sense. I know one particular school in North Mississippi that has quarantined over 30% of their student population not because of positive cases, but due to contact tracing linked to 4 positive cases.

Enterprise has a nice stadium but 2A best stadium has to be St Patrick High School in Biloxi. Not very good at football but nice stadium and facilities. This is the visitor bleachers. Home stands are 20 to 20 and much higher.

New Hope and Columbus and Greenville Wesson will be driving to one another the next 2 years. That splits the state in two.

Lake Cormorant is definitely a team that flies under the radar year in and year out. They return almost every major player that contributed off of their roster from last year. They got put out last season by Ridgeland who played in the North Half Championship on a last second pass play with like 5 seconds left and led almost the entire game. Everyone forgets that this team dominated West Point last year at West Point which NEVER happens they were up 35-19 and West Point scored with seconds left to make it 35-26. Lake Cormorant started 4 Freshmen last year and a Sophomore at RB that dislocated his elbow late in year versus Grenada that will be one of the best players in the state.

Kabe Barnett is a great player and definitely deserves a shot to play somewhere at the next level and if he continues to make plays he will get that opportunity. It does however bother me that "we" collectively as a society/fans get so hung up over OFFERS that a player may or may not possess. We almost act like that if a player gets or has offers he becomes magically a better football player than he was the day before. We tell kids not to get "caught up on having offers" and enjoy the game but, then thats all we talk about or care about. High School football should be played because it is fun, the kids love the game, the kids love their school, the kids love their community, and because they get to be a part of something that is bigger than themselves, but i strongly believe that a lot of players are just playing high school football now for offers and attention. The successful teams in our state are the teams that get their players to understand this and buy in to the team and not to themselves as Kabe has done. If it was about offers/talent then Starkville would have won 6A the last 3 seasons and Holmes County Central would have won 5A the last 3 seasons, but instead you see school like Oxford, Oak Grove, and West Point dominate (West Point gets to the championship every year with a bunch of unoffered kids that go to JUCOs every year because their coaching staff gets them to buy in as a team and those kids have a lot of pride in their community. South Panola used to be this way until they jumped on the "offer" train with the rest of us). Myself included! Sorry thats my rant for the day. Have a blessed day!

Yes they were loaded. Pegues was such a great HS and College player. Jimmy Johns a Brookhaven that same year was a great one although I did not play against him. Jerell Poe was also a senior that year. That class statewide was really good.
