I don’t really keep up enough anymore to know who may or may not be available. I moved from Batesville to Hernando about 7 years ago and have only been to a couple of SP games since, but I do still have some contacts who know what is going on.
I thought Coach Oakes was a good choice when Coach Woods retired. It’s obviously not the job it was 15 years ago but I think with the right fit, SP could challenge again. I think it will take someone who can connect with the players obviously, but also with the family support of those players, and someone who will connect with the peewee league coaches who are from what I understand, former SP players. I think a coach that could tie all that together could get the program back to the top again.
I would like to see Coach Fair from Grenada, but as I said in another post, he’s basically “home” at Grenada, he’s doing a great job, and I don’t believe he would leave “home” to come back to SP.
