The next USM women’s basketball coach will hire Larry Dolan’s replacement at Forrest County.

My 2 cents… GC most likely knows what direction they are going in and knew when the coach backed out. This should or could be a quick hire.

They should have hired him at Hattiesburg , I’m not saying he was involved.

Hearing Greene County has made a big hire

At the moment the football coach position is not the priority. The District is having to investigate several issues not associated with football. They could go to the next coach on the list, open it back up, or make a current staff member the interim coach. There is still time to open the job and start over to make a good hire.

He’s out the door. The board was quick to pull the trigger when they hired Shows. I think they will promote from within. However, we need someone from outside the District IMO.

I would not be surprised if King ends up at George County now that the Superintendent is gone.

I can see them promoting from within. Principal is on the way out, path of least resistance.

No word out of St Martin, much work to do, it’s time to see my neighbors field a consistent winner. Long Beach is also quiet, pays good, situated on the much desired Coast. Jones, Morton High HC, name is going around Greene County. Clinton is a big job and will attract the big dogs I believe .

I do not understand how Harrison County School District Athletic Director can’t advertise a job correctly. This guy makes 120k and post coaching jobs on MHSAA at Harrison “County” High School . What a joke

Hattiesburg has the means to attract a coach. Dubose may have pulled out etc but I do like the administration keeping a lid on the hiring process.

They may need to bring Forrest Williams back. He is trying to get back in Mississippi and did a good job there.

True. But at the beginning and end of the day a coach will answer to the administration. A coach should not feel like outside people (committees) have a say over their job. 100%, administrators have to do the job they are paid to do. Have the backbone to hire the coach, and if it doesn’t work out then move on.

Seems like everyone is interviewing this week. Which may not be great timing with the AD conference currently being held on the Coast. I’m hearing several schools are bringing in 10-12 coaches. The committees consist of 8-10 people. Too many administrators are afraid to make the call. This is not good for the coach that gets the job either IMO. Of the committee members most will not be the ones having the coaches back when the going gets tough. The administration needs to make the hire and support the coach.
