Remember it's not the schools that merge or consolidate, but the individuals, usually 5 of them, which votes to consolidate due to getting pressure from financially backed upper-level elite politicians. Those 5 usually go by the title of school board.

First of all, this merging into Brookhaven isn't going to happen because Brookhaven is a city school with its own school district and tax base, the Lincoln County Schools (Bogue Chitto, West Lincoln, Loyd Star and Enterprise are under their own umbrella. And with the Jones County Schools, you have a big county with nearly 70,000 people, and two separate school districts to accommodate this large population Jones County (2 5A schools, West Jones and South Jones, and one large 4A school Northeast Jones), and Laurel the city school which is 5A. Merging is lot more complicated than it sounds with truly a lot more to be considered both strategically and geographically.

What's going on at Leake County as this program seems to be down this year, and they were supposed to have some talent and size coming back?
