Arch made the right choice. The University of Texas System has an annual operating budget for all 13 of its schools totaling over 23 billion a year and the Longhorn name brand when entered into the SEC conversation will be among the strongest brands in America. Very few schools nationally have the resources of the UT System, UT Network, Name brand, history, and the like. Austin, TX has so much power in fact that the hedge fund company that has managed the finances for UT's arch-rival since 1996 is located literally 1.5 miles from the Austin campus. I'm not sure how many A&M fans are aware of that fact.
