First off kudos to Benton for sticking with 11 man football. There are SEVERAL 8 man teams that have more enrollment than Benton that have chosen the easier path. Won't name specific schools but there are more than a handful that could and should be playing 11. Shame on their leadership.

Have you considered having attorney-drafted liability waivers for parents to sign to (hopefully) relieve you of any possible litigation arising should one of these kids get injured in your workout program? My understanding is that you have some kind of weightlifting/conditioning et al program that is not affiliated with the coaching staff or school, so that creates some potentially dangerous issues. I mean, are you certified to teach weightlifting like with a NSCA or USAW certification? Are you BFA/CPR/AED certified? If not, you're taking an awfully big chance - not just on your person and any assets you may have, but also on the safety of any children that parents are entrusting you.

I'd wager that GCS is going to be pretty stout if they're adding Lausanne and Hartfield to the schedule is any indicator.

West Bolivar has scheduled their opening game to be played at and against Greenville Christian on August 26. I wonder if GCS will be a better measuring stick than North Sunflower...

Tupelo is 1-7 in the playoffs since losing in the SC in 2013. Finishing seems to have been an issue over the last eight seasons.

Agreed about Coach Hoots. Isn't Tupelo loaded every year but are somehow able to underachieve? That's been an ongoing theme with Tupelo for decades.

MSD went 3-3 last year, but the three wins were all by forfeit; 1-4 in 2020 - only win also by forfeit; 2019 they were 2-6. Coach Georgetown has kept the program going.

They are playing 8-man mostly against other deaf schools, but usually play at least one MAIS 8-man team as well.
