The pipeline hasn't dried up we have a senior rb who had about 3,000 yards last year and 2 or 3 more good ones. Oline is just getting blown up at line of scrimmage because the defenses are bringing the heat every play with 8 or 9 in the box plus our qbs are green behind the ears that doesn't help. The thing I know that would be different with Dodd is this team would be way more disciplined and play more as a team plus he would be calling the offense and making adjustments. We are having a down year because we are getting killed in trenches that's why everyone is saying we need to adjust to it instead of doing the same old thing over and over that doesn't work.

2-3 would be a surprise for Picayune had it been a cupcake non-region schedule. It wasn’t; however, that doesn’t excuse Picayune’s performance in their losses. I think if Picayune was sitting 2-3 right now with 3 heartbreaking style losses where the losses would have been close, you wouldn’t be saying it was a surprise. Remember Picayune had 3 regular season losses when they won the 1986 state title and also got shut out by Moss Point in the regular season. In the grand scheme of things 3 losses isn’t that big of a deal in non-region play. The main concerns with that are if you continued to improve from game to game.

I’ve watched the extended highlights of OM-Florida. What would concern me deeply is that everything Florida did was at the line of scrimmage. Either running the ball or short passes. And they ripped OM to shreds. OM really needs Lacy back healthy too because I’m not sure how sustainable it is to just count on Chambliss to save you every time. Yesterday was the first clear example of where that can go wrong. Now the good thing for OM is they get a bye and then a couple of games they’ll be clear favorites in. But they’re got a lot to fix before they go to Texas in a month. And Vandy and Mizzou aren’t just terrible, so they better get that defense playing better pretty soon.

2-3 is a surprise for Picayune

I don’t know where you are getting the 1-4 from. Picayune is 2-3 right now before district play.

The pipeline of tailbacks hasn’t dried up. There’s definitely some coming up. This team has just been overmatched at the LOS against better competition. That’s why they need to try to spread things out some so that it gives the playmakers in the backfield time to make plays.

Did pete golding really question the manhood of his offense postgame? 52 points given up and the way said points were put up exposed his D's weak tackling skills. I'd think he find a better DC because what happened yesterday will happen again.

The Bama game is going to be tough for State. We are banged up and they are good. But the fact that we have not played Alabama in three years means virtually everyone on the roster is playing them with a clean slate. DWS will be rocking. Obviously there will be a decent Bama crowd there. Finally I feel like we have a boxer’s chance against them. It will take a lot of points to win this game. Russell is a very good young QB similar to KT1. Maybe our defense and the crowd can get him rattled some during the game. Turnovers and special teams are going to play a pivotal role in the outcome of this game. We will see what happens.

oklahoma has jackson arnold 2.0 with Mateer, he can't pass the ball and everyone knows it. Georgia is the most complete team in the country until someone proves otherwise. bama is quietly getting stronger each week. after playing at state next week, bama hosts georgia( see my comment above) and then goes to tennessee in back to back weeks. Bama's nov 7 game at LSU might be hard but kiffin might have more guys injured by then than dressed out. Georgia and Bama will both make the 12 team playoff

the sad truth is every 1A school probably needs to be consolidated into a bigger school. It's really not economically feasible to operate a school with so few students.

Meridian, Grenada, Booneville

More like surprise lovers at 1-4, 0-5 aka Picayune and West Point for starters. Madison Central was suppose to have the team this year after the mostly freshman and sophomores a few years ago.

The questions I got out of Saturday are how bad is Oklahoma or how good is Georgia. Alabama is quietly rolling up a ton of points. They have scored 45+ every game.

When Mizzou got the ball back up 7 I thought State was done. Mizzou was working State’s defense until that point. It’s almost like the holding call on Mizzou to start the 4th woke State’s defense up and they played very well after that.

I have mentioned this before. Our defense is just so much better this year. Not perfect by any means but our tackling is light years better. Missouri was very physical and we were up to the task. Hate that we have so many injuries but unfortunately that is part of the travails of football.

Inherently one of those “I’ve seen how this plays out” moments as a State fan when the lead was blown

Well I was wrong about Florida. Obviously I knew they were better but I really felt like Ole Miss would find a way to win this game. Tough outing for Ole Miss. Tough loss for USM but I think you have to feel better about them. Had the lead in the fourth quarter just couldn’t hold it. Michigan got some comeuppance today with Iowa giving them some of their own medicine.

I did not really get to watch the OM-Florida game, will have to catch up on it the next few days, but man, the “letdown game” hype with that one forever more played out, didn’t it? Big win for State finding a way to get it done late. I thought they were in deep trouble at the end of the 3rd quarter. But closed the game really well and made a lot of clutch plays down the stretch. Kamario, Fluff, and Anthony Evans are STUDS. Just playing outstanding football to this point.

The people that are griping about Tracey Lampley I have thing thing to get across to you, Where were ya'll when Hathorne and the skidder tire man were running kids away from football in droves. If you can' see how hard your kids compete now you can't be helped or pleased. All these freshman and sophomores getting on the field would be ran out of the building by now. Ya'll can either get on board or get behind . You can feel the energy again. Go sit and watch

When did the pipeline of beast tail backs dry up in Picayune ? For dam near thirty years there was always one waiting in the wings. To me that system has always went through one of them. Maybe he can't adjust. I will ask it another way. What would Dodd Lee have done by now in a season like this one ?
