A 4 team region would be fine, but it has to be the right teams in the region. 3A south is gonna be hard to figure out, but 2A south should have been a slam dunk easy deal.

4 team regions gives you 2 open dates to fill in October. 6 team regions gives you no open dates in October in small school ball.

I gave him a scenario of Region 6 3A being Hazlehurst, Crystal Springs, Magee, Mendenhall, McLaurin. That would shift JDC and Tylertown to region 7, Seminary to region 8, Raleigh to Region 5. Pisgah and St Andrew's would go to Region 4. He said that scenario was not discussed. I now interpret the scenario of plug and play. Clarkdale to region 5 with or without 6 teams and someone goes north. Mendenhall to region 6 and someone goes north. That same thought only brings Philadelphia to region 5 and Newton to region 6.

I know there’s not a lot of bright bulbs at the MHSAA. But surely they didnt screw this up this badly. I really hope you got bad info. Surely didn’t leave Mize in region 6 with only 4 teams? That would make absolutely zero sense. That would be the dumbest districting decision that could be made in what should have been an easy draw. If you gave region 6 only 4 teams it should have been enterprise, Newton, bay springs, and Heidelberg. Then you could put Lake with region 5, and Mize with region 8. This is very very simple stuff, or at least it should be simple stuff.

My info came from a district meeting discussion. I take it that no current regions will be in 3A South will be reconstructed. I take it as Mendenhall will be added to current Region 6. Mize will be in the region they are in now. 4 team i am guessing .

They are meeting today, so maybe it gets leaked out sometime today

I know of a couple players who are interested in going to EMCC but they are concerned that nobody currently on staff will be retained. They just don't have a positive feeling about it.

While we on the subject of Petal if you haven't watched their game last Friday if you want to see something being created in real time. Petal had got the edge on everyone they played this season. Most times it looked easy. They got the edge on Meridian, sometimes. The times they didn't though Meridian was putting them on the ground with extreme prejudice . More than once they ran to the edge before that fast RB from Petal could get there and slung him so hard to the ground his body bounced off the ground a little. He was ducking out of bounds before the fourth quarter. Point blank Petal couldn't take the pounding they was putting on them . That wasn't just a loss that was an after school special arse whipping. I said in the other thread last week Petal had not taken an arse whipping. They have now . Meridians defense reminds me of Gulfport's at the end of last season. There is no doubt what they do in practice . They hit and tackle. Each other not tackling dummies, lol. Another offseason with Vance and they will be that much quicker . It's something to watch.
