  1. Past hour
  2. Not True, I'm still here. Just not much to boast about anymore. I remember the day Weems retired, I said on here that Meridian was at a crossroads and depending on the route they took would determine their future. Unfortunately, save for one miraculous season with Marcus Boyles, Meridian has gone in the wrong direction. But man those days when Meridian-Oak Grove and Wayne Co.-West Jones were the biggest rivalries in south Miss. that was when this board was on fire. I long for those days but doubt they will ever return. Meridian is on the verge of dropping to 6A.
  3. Today
  4. 2003-2014 this place was hopping.
  5. That must’ve been the real good ol days LOL.
  6. If I’m wrong in this I will accept all the smoke after. WJ wins by 20. Scott Pierson isn’t one to run up the score intentionally and I expect him to take his foot off the gas if west has comfortable lead. that in my opinion will be what keeps the score respectable. But I 110% think this is laurels least talented team in some few years. They graduated a lot of important pieces from last year and don’t have the athletes to fill the gaps. There have been seasons, like the last 3, where they honestly weren’t very good, but thanks to 5A south being what it is Laurel was able to piece together a couple a run to state game and a run to a second south state sandwiched around a 2 win season. This team won’t have the level of talent as any of those.
  7. You've completely lost your mind saying that Morgan developed that offense from scratch and that we were losing to Oxford year in and year out. Yeah Oxford won from 13-15 but WP was dog walking everyone else in 5A. Including Oxford before 2013. Not sure where you're getting this. Before Morgan became OC West Point was 57-10 vs 5A teams including Starkville and Oxford which were the only teams that stopped them from trips to Jackson in 11-15 So the offense was NEVER developed from scratch. There's footage on YouTube with WP running these same plays in 2011 with Aeris Williams when Morgan WAS NOT OC
  8. lol I would get two or three calls a week from Bobby. Back then we did Polls and we would call and compare teams from North and South. We would normally release them on Sundays Several of us got together I know it was me, WABO, Bobby and several more from north Ms I believe Slick was in too. The board was much better then a lot more information
  9. That’s exactly what I was thinking of OldTiger50. Him and WABO stayed busy on this board back in the day.
  10. Every time I see a Baldwin post I think of my friend OldTiger. Bobby was one of a kind a very good friend and he loved his Bearcats
  11. a Baldwyn player got kicked off the team yesterday
  12. I say its close for the first half. Then WJ puts it to them in 2nd half. Funny things happen between the bricks though. Lol
  13. I don't know anyone who thinks Laurel will win this game. With that said some things about it are interesting. It's Piersons first game back and we can get a glimpse of what unit he's planning on having the games go through. He's also cleaning up the slop mamas boy left him. Who is playing the scapegoat role for Laurel. From what I understand he's been running his mouth too about this Friday. Earnest and him got skull drug and looked really bad . I think this is Ryan's last season in Laurel and the guy that skull drug them last week will be the next coach. He's perfect for them. About the game how long into it does Ltown give up and quit ? They are known for it
  14. Yesterday
  15. They used to have some really cocky fans here. The good ol days

    Where is everybody?

I know everyone who posted for Meridian left. Lol
  17. If Bivens plays as he did in the jam, West will empty the bricks by halftime
  18. That is a good point . Looking at it through different glasses though back when this site was really booming different teams were on top and bumped up against each other a good bit. Now a lot of those teams have went through bad spells. I think a lot of those posters left during that time and never came back. With that said a lot of people come here and read but never participate.
  19. I believe the Wayne County/PRC game will be pretty good . A lot of excitement around Tracy Lampley returning home to hopefully revive some life into a program he stared for as a player. On the other hand a lot of talk about PRC being really good. I know they are not the wing t PRC . Game will be in Waynesboro let’s see if WC can bring that home field advantage back into play. That was once one of the toughest trips in the state in recent years not so much
  20. I’m still excited for early season. Life is just in the way until Friday but I’ll be tuned in all over the state
  21. Good luck against Meridian. I actually won't be too far from you Thursday evening LOL.

    Where is everybody?

Slick, it has always been that way. None of these games mean anything until region play starts. But not too long ago a Wayne Co/Oak Grove matchup was hyped up as much as a playoff game was even though they were in separate classes.
  23. They’re all on Facebook. I can identify the ones that do both just by the Facebook level takes I read here sometimes.
  24. We will. And admittedly, you’re right, Starkville could give OG some real problems especially Week 1. I just thought it was funny that the whole North bias came out. I couldn’t care less about that debate. OG has held their own far better than any of the other 7A south programs against the North lately.
  25. I lived through Joe Moorhead 2018 and can confirm that no situation is too good for a crappy first year head coach to mess up. Now, I think there’s reason to believe Golding is far more competent than Moorhead. But you never know with these things. Everyone thought Moorhead was a great hire until one fateful night in Lexington, Kentucky.
  26. This is a product of only one or two regular season games having any consequence anymore
  27. Woah why the name calling ? I'm not going to hijack the thread defending my position on him. I meant what I said run off. As in " you thinking of taking the Starkville job ? Ok man see you later . There's some empty boxes for you to put your stuff in the hall ." If you want to go on and on about it start another topic .I will be happy to engage you. Otherwise , enjoy your Morgan
  28. Everyone is pointing to the brutal October for State, but it doesn’t set up well in September either. Three toss up games that are vital to their season and two are on the road. As far as on the field, the defense doesn’t have the talent they used to, but Armett does seem to get the most out of what he has. I expect them to be better on that side. On offense, they have enough playmakers and Lebby is supposed to be good at getting them in the right spots, BUT I don’t know if they improved the OL any. They have to keep Taylor healthy. State was so close to some huge upsets last year. They’ll need several just to get to 6 wins. State 4-8 Has a first year head coach been more set up than Golding. Is there any way he can mess this up. Having a new OC is huge, but they have the QB, RB, and OL to be successful while working out the kinks. Kinda like State, we will have a good gauge on how the season is going after the first 3-4 games. Louisville should be a decent matchup, but I expect OM to win by 10 or more. On the road at FL after the huge LSU matchup is key. OM has several close wins last year. Can they pull off the close wins this year? OM 9-3
