  1. Past hour
  2. Just read about a coach in Oregon getting fired for doing an onside kick in a 63-0 win with the kick coming in the 2nd qtr and his team up 56-0. Without naming the school or schools, do you think there are any A.D."s or superintendents in Mississippi who would do the same thing and fire a coach for doing that? And did that coach deserve it?
  3. I have not seen them lately but the past few years it seems best athletes went to offense and defense had the rest to best they could. Seemed locked in on MUST two platoon it and I know there were years where the defense was quite porous.
  4. i agree on that. I just feel that some of these have turned in numbers quite different from their 2025 figures. I anxiously await
  5. Today
  6. Also, just a small add as to who I think GC should schedule each season (in no particular order) with a six team non-region schedule in the current class format (no open week): - Greene County (Battle for the Bell) - Stone (Battle of Highway 26) - East Central (Battle of Highway 63) - Vancleave (Battle of Highway 57) - Ocean Springs - Moss Point (Shipyard Bowl) *I would've placed Gautier and Pascagoula in there, but I think that in a normal region placement George County likely plays those two teams anyway.
  7. Since the 2000 season, George County Football has seen a wide range of success through the leadership of seven different head coaches in Andrew Hickman, Al Jones, Steve Jones, John Douglass, Matt Caldwell, James Ray, and Kelly Causey. From the outstanding run in the early 00's to the below-average-to-slightly-above-average run in the 2010's, and now the current up-and-down state of affairs of the 2020's, many a fan of the Rebel contingent have been scratching their heads wondering what it would take for the program to get back to the double-digit winning seasons of years past. Is it a lack of talent? It would seem not, as George County has been the home of four Dandy Dozen selections (McKinnley Jackson, M.J. Daniels, Marquez "Mojo" Dortch, Deuce Knight) and a host of other JUCO and second level players throughout the past two decades. Perhaps the talent isn't being utilized to the highest level. Is fan involvement mostly toxic rather than helpful? Has defense gotten worse? Is the issue administrative support or a lack thereof? School culture? Does a certain type of coach fit this program better than others? Has George County missed out on home-run hires in the past? One thing is for certain- THE PEOPLE WANT ANSWERS!!
  8. Id rather Meridian go north and keep Jim Hill in the south. LOL
  9. That's a big jump for Lafayette. Makes me wonder where those kids came from.
  10. Not official of course but Lafayette supposedly has like 740.....Corinth 466. no numbers but ripley claims to have less than booneville...byhalia and rosa fort are about right from what I'm told. and Myrtle claims to have 143.....It's gonna be some intriguing waiting on all this.
  11. I will say this much .I've seen stranger stuff happen . You have too.(cough, cough snoop conner, cough, cough ) By and large about 15 or 16 games in a row is the point you are on borrowed time. They should be able to get through that region on borrowed time. After that maybe they quit working so hard and gotten fat off of the creampuffs. It only takes one bad game in a one game season.
  12. I watched most of WP/Pont. Just going off of that if NH or CC can stop the run on the left edge they absolutely can. I can't remember a single pass they threw . They would get to third down and just run left. Run clock, run left. I can't remember WP offense ever looking that bad. They had running backs getting swarmed with no OL even on the screen. More times than not they would block air at the snap. It reminded me of WC with Hankins as our coach. Kids not enjoying a dam thing about it
  13. only game West Point might win is Columbus they both 0-6, New Hope going to beat West Point this year, West Point can't hardly put up any pts on nobody, that really bad
  14. Region 1: South Panola, Center Hill, Grenada, Lake Commorant, Saltillo Region 2: Pearl, Warren Central, Callaway, Murrah, Jim Hill, Ridgeland, Canton Region 3: Meridian, Terry, West Jones, Hattiesburg, Forest Hill, South Jones Region 4: Hancock, George County, Pascagoula, PRC, Picayune, Long Beach
  15. 2025 numbers: #6 Lafayette County 616 5A #22 Corinth 485 5A #16 Mooreville 403 4A #41 tie Ripley 324 4A #1 Booneville 319 3A #2 Byhalia 310 3A #6 Rosa Fort 285 3A #19 North Tippah 259 3A #35 Myrtle 156 2A
  16. Yesterday
  17. I watched the West Point livestream against Pontotoc and it wasn’t a good football team that I saw. They were undisciplined and unconditioned. Heck they even looked slow when they ran the football. They may win a game, but if who they play is quicker, leaner and more physical why would you go against picking West Point’s opponent to win?
  18. they see Pontotoc next Friday, that game at New Hope, New Hope been giving Pontotoc some problem since they been in 5A, New Hope should beat West Point if they don't overlook at West Point
  19. No thoughts on Lafayette moving from 5A to 6A? Maybe I am off base there. I'm pretty sure corinth has a lower figure than previous so i doubt they go up from 4A to 5A. I agree on byhalia and rosa fort dropping from 4A to 3A but Ripley sure thinks they drop to 3A also and mooreville seems to want to drop to 3A. I still think Booneville will be at or near the 3A to 4A line. North Tippah will be a 3A school starting in august of 27 but I'm told that most of the current admin at walnut and falkner still have no idea what their new role will be after the consolidation. Also , Myrtle sure thinks they are dropping from 2A to 1A.
  20. If they lose to pontotoc and west point?
  21. New Hope is surprise team this year
  22. yea Kemper County is a surprise team this year, yea they whoop East Webster and punked them bad. that Kemper County Eupora will tell us a lot, I think Kemper County will beat Eupora at home and Kemper County very tough this year at home
  23. Is Kemper County a surprise team this year? They thumped East Webster 45-20 and appear to have 1st place in region locked with a win over Eupora at home friday.
  24. you right TCPS haven't played nobody, might will see meet up with Calhoun City 3rd rd, Calhoun City speed will give TCPS some problem
