  2. In Starkville for work this week so I got to slip over to the Hump last night and watch.State vs NW State. Good showing by the Dogs. Competition not very good, but anytime you win a game 82-44 you deserve at least some credit. They play Jackson State on Monday and then the season really gets going in a week. They’ve got a stretch of about six big games in a row beginning with Xavier that will determine a lot about what this team’s season can be.
  3. Yea I just skimmed through real quick and didn’t notice that. It appears they just picked schools out of a hat.
  4. try the new north tippah school which is in Walnut in region with north panola and independence when kossuth, alcorn central are a stones throw away. weird crap
  5. North Pontotoc and South Pontotoc being 15 mins apart but in different regions makes a lot of sense.
  6. This is a good, proactive move by the districts. Baldwyn, Nettleton, and Union are small districts spread across two counties as their towns are on the lines. Lumberton was as well years ago had a forced consolidation with Lamar County Schools. I think the students who were zoned for Lumberton but lived in Pearl River County were allowed to continue at Lumberton and did not move to PRC but I'm not 100% sure. Along with my many posts about the stupidity of 7 classes, I've been just as vocal about the need for district consolidation. There should be many more. District consolidation does not have to lead to local school closures just reduced administration and fewer school boards and taxation variances. Does it save a ton of money? Not necessarily that much in the big picture, but in a time of declining school enrollments and lack of adequate funds, this is mostly a good thing. I'd love to see more voluntarily make the move but it will likely be a fight in most communities.
  7. MHSAA posted them late yesterday.
  8. My brother in law told me about 12 years ago they like to switch schools from region to region everytime. They done a humdinger this time on 1A-4A. I expected it but not this much.
  9. some weird placements here but after all, it is the mhsaa we're talking about
  10. Today
  11. Meridian seems to be shaking things up good
  12. I don’t know where he got them, but this is what was sent to me.
  13. Massive week of games nationally. I’ll start with the biggest one of them all! Vandy at State.- lol. This game is going to be gross. It sounds like Swann and Fluff might actually play? Did not expect that after how they left the Texas game. This feels like a hugely important game for Lebby. State CAN win it. But I don’t believe in this team without Kamario. Prove me wrong, Dogs. But I have Vandy coming into town and winning something like 20-17. Georgia at Ole Miss - Massive game for OM. Win this one and it would take a big upset for them to not make the Playoff a second year in a row. Might still have a chance with a loss but it would be tough. I’m truly torn on this one, as I believe UGA is the better team. But when in doubt, recent history says pick Ole Miss at home. I think the Rebs get this one 31-27. Bama at LSU - I have no clue why Bama is rated as high as they are in the CFP rankings. But I don’t think it will last long. LSU has quietly stepped it up of late, and in Baton Rouge, I really like their chances here. I actually have LSU winning this one by double digits. Kentucky at Tennessee - Excited about this one, think it’s a great opportunity for UK…. But if there’s anything I’ve learned watching Kentucky over the years, it’s that Tennessee is their boogeyman. I think the Vols take this one at home. Texas at Mizzou - Mizzou is weird (lol of course they are). Texas is good but not great. I’m taking Mizzou in a home upset here. Miami at Notre Dame - No Toney for the Canes, who have been living dangerously lately. I think ND finally gets its big win here. Utah at BYU - Top 10 Holy War. Will be a fun game in the early window. I am taking BYU on the road in this one, just a hunch.
  14. That was one hell of a game

    Class 7a South 2026

    Class 6a south 2026

Terry has a RB thats hard to tackle. Broke numerous tackles and had a few runs where the officials blew it dead after stopping his momentum but he was never tackled
  17. I look for many school districts to be consolidated going forward. Not necessarily closing very many actual schools but there is so much flab in every School District Office that eventually the taxpayers are going to revolt and force the legislature to combine districts. There should be one per county. 82 total. There are currently 138. That is way too many. Money or the lack of will demand that this happen in the years ahead.
  18. Looks like this went to par tonight.
  19. Well you still had to win your game and you did. To see our kids having fun again and obviously winning football games is great to see!!!
  20. Meridian is a very dangerous sneaky 7A South team going into the Playoffs next week
  21. Baldwyn and Booneville School Districts are working on a merger plan. The schools will remain open.
  22. Not really. #6 from petal is phenomenal. 6 touchdowns
  23. Meridian The OG community thanks you for helping us clinch district tonight
