He was from Wisconsin. Wound up playing at WR. If hes still on the roster then was was granted another year of eligibility. He was a senior last season.

We had one kid transfer in 2010 that started in defense who was a star at former school. Was just a good lb at WJ. In 2020 a wr transferred from mt olive his 10th grade year. He was really good, 3star wr by senior season that did not play senior year due to acl tear in summer before senior year. He eventually went to Usm did not ever play I don’t think. We had one transfer before last season that there was a lot of shenanigans that led to him playing 3 games at Wayne academy, he will be playing this year. And then we had the kid from oak grove this past spring. So at most on a season roster we have 2 that were not originally at WJ. Sure there were rumors of another rb and a wr before the end of last season. There was rumors of 2 different qb’s (one lives in jones county but he attends private school). And a d lineman from bay springs was rumored. There were unconfirmed rumors of another kid from oak grove. There are always rumors of “oh my gosh this 9th grade phenomenon that’s already 4 star is transferring”. But the fact remains that no more than 1 a year and several years apart from each other, has actually happened at WJ. That’s not the case with Hattiesburg. Hattiesburg isn’t growing like petal or oak grove, nor even sumrall. But you guys are openly bragging about pulling kids in from other schools like you have no fear that anyone will stop it. How many was it last year? Three? Four? At least that qb that moved from like Minnesota to Georgia then to Hattiesburg in less than a year is still on the roster. And now you guys are adding all these other kids for this season? It’s far too obvious what’s going on. If school choice had of passed this last spring I can assure you Laurel would have lost 8 to 10 kids to WJ in a hurry. WJ could have taken a few of them anyway as they live in one of the few areas where kids can choose between the schools. Some of them were recruited to Laurel from WJ to begin with by former line coach at Laurel that left. But WJ had over 130 come out for varsity football in the spring. And coaches won’t throw any off the team to make room for others even if some would never see the field. So a bunch of kids wanting to move were told to stay put. Heck there are about as many from NEJ that want out as well and some could go to South jones easily and some to west. There are a bunch of kids that do not want to be at Laurel or nej right now (this ties in to the things I know about that’s been going on at Laurel for a few years now and is partly responsible for their recent poor seasons and could be tip of the iceberg).

You know you would be happy if players came in to make your team better. Lets just says 2 defensive players with talent of former WJ player Byron Young moved in from say Greene Co. Would you not be happy to have them?

Hattiesburg coaches this past spring

Wr from fcahs. Rb/db from fcahs, d lineman from Perry county, safety from Brandon (by hiring his dad as baseball coach). That’s what I recall off my head right now.

Maybe you cans can finally recruit your way to one of these.

2 kids were said to be possibly transferring vott. 2. And it was said before the season even ended last year. And Trey were not recruited, there were issues at prior school and a parent wanted to get them away from it. And for the record, they did not transfer (one will never play again). There was 1 other kid that can play wr from oak grove who did transfer during christmas break. You guys got like 5 this offseason alone. 2 from one school. And brag about recruiting them.

So how many new kids is this for Hattiesburg now?

Dobt know when it was done. Assuming the kid just got clearance cause they started bragging about it in the group the kids use to talk to each other. It can be inferred from the post they are openly bragging about it as well. They are rubbing it in everyone’s faces.

Oh you can bet it.

Wasnt it you last yr who was quoted as saying WJ offense was going to be dangerous in 2026 if the RB portal comes thru and if another WR is gets to enroll?

A bona fide move for athletic purposes they are supposed to be enrolled before the first day of school. Waiting to see what's done on the guardianship front with the updated handbook and law changes.

When the 2026 season is done no matter what happens Hattiesburg is going to catch some MAJOR HEAT. If they happen to win the 6a state title, everyone is going to say they recruited their way to a championship. If they get to the title game and lose or dont even make it to the title game this page will blow up. LOL

I guess Hattiesburg believed in their talent level so much they decided to go the Tupelo route of recruiting. And bragging about it.

Hattiesburg now has recruited a sophmore rb from fcahs. Easnt there a rule about them having to be enrolled and practicing by a certain date?

That is strange. Seems like the big 3 all started consistently playing each other around the same time.

They didnt start playing each other consistently until the year 2000 when Petal became 5a which at the time was the largest classification. For some reason back in the 70s 80s and 90s there was just no interest from both sides not to play football despite the fact they played each other every year in basketball and baseball.

You are definitely right. I am invested in the Little Brown Jug game. Been attending it for 50 of my 56 yrs on this earth. And yes the regular season right now is not what it used to be witb 7 classes and 2-8 teams making the playoffs. But I would rather have that than have 105yrs of tradition just thrown away.

We get it by now. You are heavily invested in that jug.Maybe you could offer a suggestion on a solution or maybe you have some knowledge on why the regular season was neutered. There are other threads we can go back-and-forth in and believe me there’s some stuff in them that I could dig into. I want to keep this discussion about the failure now that we all have. Let’s save the trip back to win cheerleaders skirts, went past their ankles for another discussion.. thanks
