Are you as proud of your students for appropriating a highly inappropriate and vulgar LSU chant (with band accompaniment) as your administration obviously is given their tolerance of

The MISSHSAA could do something if reported. Does the P.A announcer read the pregame speech explaining behavior of profanity and vulgar cheers and people involved in their behavior could cause their school to be placed on probation?

I know for a fact OS admins are on top of the student section continuously and do not tolerate ANY negative cheers or chants. Maybe they slid something by them. Feel free to make a call to the school if it was offensive.

I’ve had two people tell me it has been going on prior to this season.  One being an OS grad.

Sounds like administration is aware of what you’re speaking of and will address it. Definitely not condoned but sounds like kids being kids to me. Definitely not something I would create a topic on in a sports forum, but that’s just me. I know that there are worse things kids could be doing on a Friday night other than supporting their school and singing, a bad word in a song.

You’re right: it’s just you deflecting because it has been countenanced by adults in roles of supervision including the band teacher and school administrators for awhile now. Undoubtedly, they’re aware of the fact that the LSU administration forced the Tiger band to cease playing that tune (even though their uncouth students continue to chant it unaccompanied by music).

If it had been a few bad apples in the student section, then the noise wouldn’t have been audible; however, this was a throng of a couple of hundred students not only shouting two profanities but also gesturing in a way associated with such an act.

And that’s part of the shame of it.  I haven’t seen or heard a student body so engaged at a high school football game.  They are loud and help give OS a home field advantage.

That’s commendable so cut out the trashy antics.

OS and D'Iberville probably the two worst student sections on the coast.

Most schools on the coast barely show up with fans at away games just across the bridge, much less a student section. I’m sure the people in charge will be looking into it. Back to football.
