Tupelo Ineligible Player

A player who was originally deemed ineligible by the MISHSAA is now ruled eligible? I'm not sure I understand what this article is saying. How is he not eligible if he's been enrolled at Tupelo this whole year?

probably due to a residency issue.  He flat out left and or moved due to athletic issues as did the other 10 or so who also left Nettleton at the end of May or as this kid did, in July. He is a 3 sport athlete, so I assume he will play basketball and baseball at Tupelo this school year. Just proves if you hire a good attorney, he will make the mhsaa twist and turn and forget what they said the day before. The Nettleton admins made sure all I's were dotted and Tee's crossed and in this case all wasn't completely  clear when school started.  all is well now.

Exactly.

Same deal as last year when all the MAIS private school kids left (when their team was deemed ineligible for playoffs) and enrolled at Brandon - were immediately made eligible by the MHSAA and then when the weak MAIS reversed the decision, all the private school kids came back again to their original school and were deemed eligible immediately with no penalty or anything.

When you’ve got enough $ to hire lawyers who’ll threaten to sue and mean it, the MHSAA/MAIS backs up real quick.
