This is definitely part of it but not all of it. Just take a peek into next season in this region. Pontotoc and Houston will be just as good if not better, North Pontotoc and Ripley are bad young now and weren't even supposed to be good this year(from a New Albany insider) and New Albany will have either a freshman QB or a 10th grade QB with little experience and shot put arm running the O. If they don't change the narrative and start to scratch and claw, they will be playing for last place again next year. They went from publicly stating that this was their year to push for 3rd and 4th round to playing like a midling 2A club.

I think they are capable of beating either of those teams. I don't think it would be a blowout but they are capable. East webster and east union are very even this year but choctaw county appears better than them both.

Baldwyn is tough for a 2A team. They play @ East Union on oct 29 for the region title. I have covered Baldwyn since the early 2000's and this appears to be the best team they have fielded since their state championship run back 10-12 years ago.
