I apologize if this has already been discussed, but with the new facilities being built are they also putting more money in the head coaches pocket along with his staff?

I have always thought that if the right coach and staff got ahold of this program they would be dynamic, for sure.

Yes and did the same this season as 9th graders, as well as when they were 7th graders.

The 8th grade program went undefeated two years ago because of the 9th grade group they have now. They also only won 1 game this past season because of lack of talent . Also, that same year 8th won it all, 7th graders lost every game and went undefeated this past season. So I don't think it is because of Pennock.

I have heard the OC that came with Pennock to OS wants to stay and take over. However, with them being in a bind with no Superintendent or AD, nobody really knows who is making the decisions.

I would think with the way their offense has performed and given how long the OC has been with Pennock, they would at least consider him.

@Greyhoundtransplant has the current DC or OC shown any interest in trying to take over at OS?

Coach Denmark is a great man and hell of a coach. The program is in phenomenal hands.

Hired a guy he worked with at EC with. It started with King from Greene County, but don't think he made it to the season. Then Bo Wallace had some involvement, but not sure what happened.

Seth Smith? If that is true, it would not surprise me given he is trying to run the power toss offense at the JUCO level. Lost 2 OC in less than two years. Think he bit more than he could chew taking that job, but you live and you learn. Would be interesting to see him with the Warriors.

I would have to agree, in terms of 6A coast football. But if you are wanting your kid to be raised in power run football, head West to Picayune.

I understand completely. One might ask what direction is SM trying to go with the program? Especially if higher qualifying candidates put in for the job. No matter who would've taken this position, they were in for a lot of work to change the culture of the program. Guess we will find out starting next August!

Yes, I was just thinking out loud with coaches from North/Central MS that have come down to find success and Pennock just stuck out, given what he has done in his short tenure on the coast. Bobby Hall finished 12-22 over his 3 years at Biloxi. Nobody will ever know what goes on behind closed doors in any program, however Hall never stuck out to me as a good fit for Biloxi. Yet again in response to coast football teams not hiring "great" coaches like the north/central part of the state has a lot to do with what goes on at the top. Seems like most coast school leaders focus on the education part and forget how much of a benefit a positive and successful extra curricular program can be to their students.
