He’s talking about the chevron. Catfish Point closed 2016 which sucks cause it was sooooo good. It was one of the last places I took my granny to eat before she passed away. I like to think they stayed open long enough for me and granny to have one final meal together

I prefer the tenders with logs and house sauce. I don’t know how the schedule will look next year but if you have to come to east central, turn left at the red light where that chevron is, and keep going straight and it’ll lead you right to East Central and if you kept going that way it would take you right into Mobile.

Parking is usually pretty convenient. Even for the Pascagoula game I got a decent spot. Not too far of a walk at all. There is one ticket booth so you won’t have to worry about being sent on a wild goose chase for tickets. Go fan is accepted and tickets are sold at the gate. Safe travels

I am excited to watch the machine in Picayune in person. I have a little cousin on Gautier’s team so I’ve had a chance to watch them in every game this year. I’ll admit after that performance against Provine I didn’t think they would be in this position, but I guess that’s why they play the games week to week. There are a few things that worry me about this game from a non biased standpoint. 1. Coaching: against PRC, Gautier had a chance to get the ball back before halftime by getting 3 stops and calling 3 timeouts. They let so much time run off the clock and never called a timeout. You can’t be calling yourself all gas and no brakes and don’t press the gas. Need to maximize those chances for points this week. Also, stop passing on 4th and 3 or less when you got a QB who can fall forward for 3 yards. The inability to run the ball cost them an upset last year against West Jones. 2. mental mistakes/ dropsies: As talented as they are, sometimes Gautier still makes that bonehead head scratching penalty, usually in the form of taunting nature or extra curricular activity after the whistle. They’ve cut down on them a lot since about mid season but one is too many especially in a game like this. As good as the receiving core is, they get bad cases of the dropsies. Against Provine, I’ve never saw anything like it. Almost wanted to check the ball for crisco grease . Numbers are already great but they’d be astronomical if they cut down on the drops. 3. Defense particularly the run defense: The East Central game was one to circle because they gashed Gautier all night. Final score doesn’t indicate it but you would have to be there to see what I mean. 42-35 with 7 minutes in the game and EC fumbles on a toss play on the 1/2 inch yard line. Gautier scores after that and goes up two scores and that EC offense ain’t built for comebacks of course. Gautier got some timely stops when needed. However, If any of these backs from Picayune get daylight , you’re not catching them like you did those EC backs. I can’t wait to head over to Picayune tomorrow. Praying for a safe trip and NO traffic on I-10

Last year was ridiculous. They let that freshman cornerback stay on an island the whole game and it got ugly. Hoping for some good weather and a great game.

I have a little cousin on the team, so I made the 3 hour drive to support. It was a combination of a few things. Play calling left a lot to be desired. The infatuation Gautier has for this “air raid” identity is frustrating to watch sometimes. The definition of insanity is.. They were getting 5-6 yards per carry when they would run but would go right back to throwing. They were plagued by drops as well. Bonehead penalties like blocking somebody 30 yards behind the play took a TD off the board. 3-4 trips to the red zone and you couldn’t punch it in or kick a field goal. Might be a long year in the Swamp.

You should’ve saw the atrocious play calling against East Central. Inside the red zone 3 different possessions in the 4th quarter and came away with ZERO points. The passing on 4th and 1 when you got a quarterback who can lean forward and get ya 2 or 3. The lack of a running game hurts them too. Before Friday, the running back had a whopping 45 carries on the season.I get that they wanna be an “air raid” style offense, but you should’ve been able to go on a time chewing drive up 28-24 with 7 minutes and came away with a score to put it away. I hear conflicting stories about play calling. Some people say the offensive coordinator has total control of the calls and some say High makes the final calls. Who knows. My little cousin plays defensive tackle so he has no idea about the offensive side of the ball. That last play was weird cause surely you don’t think they are gonna bite on that on fourth and long.

Yep. East Central has this weird obsession with making things difficult on themselves lol. Last year district was giftwrapped for them only to lose and end up 4. This year, they have to win a rivalry game to get in.

That’s easy. Just look at the top 50 recruits list in Mississippi and there’s most of your roster.

I was there Friday cause I chose not to go watch Gautier and Long Beach. They moved the ball well as you stated but bogged down inside the red zone.I could be wrong but it’s like the defense has no identity. If Parnell is back this week, it wouldn’t surprise me if they kept it closer than expected. Next week too. I’ll be at East Central vs Picayune this week and then at Goula next week to watch them play Ocean Springs.

Yep. It’s tough to watch them defensively. Tackling isn’t there. Effort isn’t there. Big up front but get pushed around a lot. Or get gassed after a few plays. Those are off-season fixes. I actually would’ve loved if Sims would’ve taken the AD job

I agree that there are definitely some quality assistants on staff. There have been rumblings in the stands and on social media. Some of it warranted and some of it just ridiculous. I almost responded to a comment about the coaches allegedly not caring about the kids and stopping them from getting recruited. Just nonsense. I hope they get it turned around cause they got enough talent to compete with anybody

Coach Sims is a great person and a good coach. However, I think him being too nice, especially to his staff, is going to be his downfall. They really have too much talent to not have at least 3 wins this year. I have watched them play 3 times this year and it’s obvious the strength and conditioning program ain’t cutting it. They struggle once they get inside the red zone. They don’t tackle well on defense. They aren’t the only high school I’ve saw do this but they have to burn timeouts coming out of timeouts cause they can’t get a play call in, which is crazy to me. It’s gonna take a major overhaul on staff to get the job done. Last year with forfeits and a few lucky bounces going their way and them winning district and making it to south state, it put a bandaid on a bullet hole.

QB went down the 1st half of the 1st game of the season. Offensively without him, it just doesn’t click. They’ve been pretty good on defense but are susceptible to the deep ball in the secondary.
