  1. Couldn't agree more. Thank you.
  2. Then you were obviously the only one "alluding" to it.
  3. It might have been JA students but I got news for you, thugs and crime exist everywhere and a lot of them wear white collars. Madison isn't exempt . . . or special. Even if it is the "richest" city. Lol.
  4. What vandalism? When JA played at Leake Academy earlier in the year the JA students collapsed the South endzone fence. Was it similiar?
  5. Is this a typo or just a coincidence that the scores of the two 5A games are identical to the two 6A games? Regardless MRA will beat JA by more than 11 points. MAIS 5A PLAYOFFS Heritage Academy (Columbus, MS) vs. Oak Forest Academy (Amite, LA) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection: Heritage Academy (Columbus, MS) 27-22] Leake Academy (Madden, MS) vs. Copiah Academy (Gallman, MS) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection: Leake Academy (Madden, MS) 31-20] MAIS 6A PLAYOFFS Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS) vs. Jackson Prep (Jackson, MS) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection: Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS) 27-22] Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, MS) vs. Jackson Academy (Jackson, MS) at TBA, 7:00pm [projection: Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, MS) 31-20]
  6. Heritage is indeed talented but they are no where close to being as big up front. OFA averages around 290 lbs with a couple at 300 lbs. Leake dwarfed Heritage up front and OFA is bigger than Leake. Heritage is quick though, real quick. With that said, I'd love to see a HA vs. LA rematch in the finals.
  7. Oak Forest is actually 8-1 (9-1 after Simpson win). They should have two losses because they cancelled their game with JA, but MAIS just wrote it off as and open date for both teams for some reason. Heritage will have a tough time with OFA and that running game of theirs (OFA are some big boys), but if HA can answer with their passing game it will be close. I hope Heritage wins but I have doubts.
  8. Not sure. The MAIS Allstar game is Dec. 3rd this year.
  9. I don't know why they didn't move it to MC. It would have still been centrally located and great facilities.
  10. What is the MS Youth Football Association? What ages?
  11. Couldn't agree with you more. It's not HS football if there is no community pride.
  12. Simpson Academy doesn't play Cathedral. They play Madison St. Joe in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Cathedral plays Bayou Academy.
  13. Wow! Another legend steps away. Coach Barnes was and is a class act.
  14. Maybe . . . but they're not what they were with Sewell, LaPrarie and Cotten. IMHO they'd probably wind up 6-4 or 5-5 if they were still in 5A. The two Barnes brothers are definitely talented though. So do you think they could have beat OFA if they had played like they're capable?
  15. Yep. They played three 4A teams and a district (5A-3) down South that's pretty mediocre.
  16. Yeah OFA's competition wasn't very good but they did what a good team is supposed to do against lesser comp. I was at the Heritage vs. Leake game and it was one of the best I've seen. If Heritage hadn't fumbled with 2 minutes left it would have probably went into OT. I agree any of the three could win it but Heritage vs. OFA will be an interesting semi-final.
  17. If #2 Heritage Academy and #3 Oak Forest Academy make it to the semi-finals (and they probably will), who wins and goes on to the 5A State Championship (to probably play #1 Leake Academy)?
  18. I guess I was being generous when I said Sacred Heart would beat ERA by 14. They beat them by 22. The program at ERA is on life support.
  19. That was one of the best H.S. games I've ever seen. Leake Academy was so much more physical than Heritage but when Howard had time he connected. A late fumble by Heritage with 2 minutes left sealed the deal for Leake.
  20. I haven't thought about that but I bet you're right. That's a bad message to send the kids though . . . "If it seems difficult or impossible don't even try."
  21. According to a Leake assistant, ERA's coach told them it was because player's parents lobbied the board at East Rankin to forfeit it because they were concerned their kids would get hurt at Leake. Leake is a very physical team and their O-line and D-line both average around 260 and they're athletic. Leake would have probably won 60-0 but to forfeit a game for that reason just shows why ERA is so bad. The coaches aren't being allowed to run the program.
  22. It will be hard to beat them at home. They haven't met a defense like Leake's but they throw like a CC team so they'll put some points up. Leake is averaging 300+ yds. on the ground and almost 500 total. They score almost at will so they'll rack up some points too. It should be a great game.
