In 2018 Winona and Montgomery County consolidated in a mid year. Winona was 2A at the the time and was bump up to 3A. Winona had to find a district that would take them in order to play for a Championship. Winona was force to play the south as a member or region 5 and travel for all district games. That year Winona went 13-1 losing in the third round to Seminary.
