Fellas, by saying OS vs another school, or oh its was ok then but is not now, or alluding to the attitude of "OS deserves this" we are taking ourselves away from the problem this post was initialing addressing. When is someone going to be held accountable or have they ever been held accountable? I am not naive to the fact that it hurts worse when this activity from a coach happens and it negatively impacts a program you are passionate about but, want to try to find gray area when it helps, as that is human nature. (Please keep in mind we are just recently involved in the program so I do not know of any wrong doing before). I do know that this is a blatant violation, and it is elevated by being thrown in the players and coaches face. (Exhibit 1 attached)

I can not speak for everyone but, I can for my son. Salty about losing our head coach, no, the players have more excitement for coach Bramlett, but agitated about the way he left and blatantly trying to take good players to ruin our program, yes. It is rumored that the old DC was walking down the halls of the junior high school screaming "I am going to recruit everyone here". I can not speak to what went on last year but, I can this year and it seems to me there is one reoccurring theme, the head coach. Hypothetically speaking of course.

I do not believe anyone has said they wanted the player to be ineligible for a year. Actually, it is sad that the actions of a coach, when they are clearly breaking the rules and do not care about consequences, come to hurt the players more than anyone. These coaches are not thinking about what is best for the players at all in fact.

I think we both know who you're talking about David. My son told me a couple of days ago. If the MHSAA is not going to enforce what according to the rule book is an apparent violation, then they might as well omit all recruiting rules. Here is the rule: 3.1.5- 4.A student transfers to a new school within one calendar year of the relocation of his/her coach, including non-faculty, to that school. 3.1.6- Article 3.1.5 (1-4) shall be enforced even in the event the student made a bona-fide move into the receiving school’s attendance zone. My son has shown me the screen shots the players have saved of the text messages between the player and new HC/DC that he sent through a social media platform. He has been telling me over the last few weeks that this player has been bragging about how the coaches have been calling him and that he has nothing to worry about. I did not believe that player was every going to leave as the rule states very clearly, he would not be able to play. When my son told me he withdrew from school to attend the rival school I was very confused and aggravated.

This is interesting coming from a Gulfport "fan" (I suspect coach). From conversations with my son and other coaches, they want Coach Bramlett and says he deserves the head job because of the all the work he did within the program. This statement is even more entertaining due to the fact that he has been offered the OC position at Gulfport. If he is not worth anything, then why is Coach Pennock desperate to keep him as his OC. Pennock was only a head coach for one year at Pass before went to OS. Coach Bramlett has worked for some prominent coaches in this state and has been calling the offensive for the last 4 years under Coach Pennock. Bottom line he has the backing of all the assistant coaches, the players (including my son), and parents.

No one has even mentioned the possibilities of some 7A coaches leading successful programs from Alabama being more suitable for the position.

Does not technically have to have either but, it is preferred depending on who is doing the hiring. Head coach typically receives additional salary by receiving an Asst. AD title. I believe the money is not the problem. It is the certain people on the school board, that either have a personal vendetta or care nothing about athletics, are making decisions about the future of an athletic program. How can we be assured that they are making decisions in our children's best interest when I hear that they say things as I do not care anything about Football? My fear is that they want to hire from their network of friends and will accept mediocrity as long as it fits their own agenda. This school board is not a diverse representation of Ocean Springs is. The 3 board members knew this was their agenda to push certain administrators out and the strain that would put on a successful program but yet choose to not act quickly to alleviate the issue. How does that make sense?

Which is why I did not say you were incorrect and just supplying information given to me by my son.

He has spoken to 4 coaches from OS: DC- Accepted and has told his defensive staff OL- from what is being rumored turned down the position OC- rumors are he wants to stay but has no other option currently WR- is undecided but consensus is that he takes the position

Interesting, that you say that none of this is happening and speak with confidence. When there is proof of these actions happening. He has repeatedly reached out to up-and-coming player within the school district parents. This has been confirmed from the athlete of receiving call and not the other way around. Furthermore, Coach Green has already informed his defensive staff he was taking the job. Hence you are incorrect again.

I did. Which is why my call went to the principal immediately.

Being in the legal profession, I quickly read the MSHAA guidelines. In Section 3.1 Illegal recruiting - the Coach has been in violation of at least 2 guidelines. In fault of 3.1.2 and 3.1.5- Which states 3.1.5 A student transferring from one member school to another shall be ruled ineligible for one calendar year from the date of enrollment because of “undue influence” if any of the following situations exist: 4. A student transfers to a new school within one calendar year of the relocation of his/her coach, including non-faculty, to that school. I will not even continue into the next sections, as there are clear violations within those guidelines. Another parent is typing up an email currently to file a complaint and I just left a message for the principal of the highschool. More compliants will be filed today. Here is the general number for MSHAA is 16019246400. If you want to leave Coach because of a financial situation I will respect that decision but, you will do it in the right way and not take down a program that supported you.

As a parent in OS of a football player I am pretty upset. I am upset that the coaches that have already decided to leave are still allowed to be around players. Talking to my son last night he said yeah, Coach Green was in the weight room yesterday talking to players. Also, my son just texted me and said that his friend has had daily calls from Coach Pennock TO HIS MOTHER asking him to go to Gulfport. He also said that Will Smith the running back said the same thing about Pennock reaching out to his dad. I have reached out to a couple of parents and we are making a complaint with MHSAA today.

This is true. The 3 women on the board, who have been quoted to not care or know anything about football, voted against hiring Bramlett. This has mostly been about scores to settle and vendettas and nothing about what is best for the program. Dr. Vickie Tiblier has told friends of my wife and mine that her personal goal is to get rid Dr. Coleman and change everything she accomplished. Bramlett does not want to leave and when he spoke to one of the board members this week, he said he was ready to continue winning with the Greyhounds.
