The West Bolivar Eagles soaring into 2021 season

West Bolivar returned to the gridiron for the 1st time in over a year. The Eagles 2019 season ended with a district title and 9-3 record under their then 1st year head coach. WB chances to compete for the state title was impacted by an ACL injury suffered in the season opener by their 3 year starter at QB. The then freshman who took over in 2019 now looks to lead WB to the schools 6th State Title. After Saturday’s performance, the players confidence level continues to rise. A team full of first year starters and underclassmen will enter the season under the radar. WB has been counted out for nearly the previous 5 years. However, not only is WB back. The Soldiers of Sound marching band is officially back. Not only is the marching band back, but some of the top athletes in the entire school basically said they’re about to live in the weightroom all summer. If WB gets that kind of commitment from the players without outside influences and people attempting to cause distractions... WB will compete with anybody in 1A. I wonder how many replies this thread would have right now if West Bolivar had a bad showing at the jamboree? 
 

Either way, based on some of the recent calls and conversations I had in the past few days it’s clear some local people still read my MST posts.
I won’t post this info given by someone in a pivotal role who informed me of a situation but I will give a few lurkers the heads up that this coming news will be heard statewide.

There was an article just recently in the newspaper on the West Bolivar football team heading into the 2021 season. Some big time talent committed to working as the Eagles compete for a 6th State Championship. IronEagle athletics is a movement. 
After what happened this morning, it’s clear Rosedale is still a football town. The Eagles about to live on the gridiron and the weightroom. It’s time to work. Get your popcorn ready!

IRONEagle Athletics summer workouts are back in full swing. I will develop a platform and social media page (s) in the near future to showcase the talent coming through West Bolivar that’s working with IE Athletics. This is a movement. WB is loaded from grades 7th - 11th. After dominating the spring game, 5 players that were projected to be starters who sat out the spring have stated they plan to return to the team this summer/fall. One holdout was due to an injury and another was a parent holdout. The two most impactful players returning will be an upcoming freshman ATH who works out with IE Athletics.

I can guarantee MST that this kid if he commits to the sport will be a college prospect. Has the potential to be one of the top underclassmen in MS this fall. He reminds me of Duke Upshaw a former Baldwyn standout and Tre’veon Nelson a former Hollandale standout.
The other player is a OL/DL player who has grown to be around 6’4 240-260. He will be a junior in the fall. Get your popcorn ready.

Upshaw was a game changer. The kid from WB has the same playmaking ability he just has to continue to work hard. He has join IE athletics and we’re going through a session right now. One of the local coaches of another sport saw us preparing for a session and I could tell they were all in their feelings from the way these kids are committing to football. I heard the weightroom was packed this morning. Any other community would be buzzing and pushing all the athletes to get on the field football in a place like Rosedale where there’s so much football tradition. This is a movement.
