Coach Kelly Jimmerson: ''Its always exciting , you know you got a new year, a new group of guys; new identity got to be formed; you know we got a great opponent in Scott Central and Taylorsville so we're going to find out where we are pretty quick. That last season doesn't matter at this point and I know its easy to say; its harder to get through our kids heads but you know we're 0-0 and thats the way we're going to approach it and we're going to play it one week at a time and try to establish that mentality.''

Season Opener: August 26 at Lake

The Enterprise Bulldogs are coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history and with 15 starters back from last year's 12-1 team optimism in Enterprise is very high. Enterprise returns seven starters on offense and eight of defense from last years historic squad. Enterprise did lose former four-year-starter Derryon Gray, who signed with Belhaven University. Senior Cooper Gaylean takes over at Quarterback. Junior RB Zee Sims returns after rushing for 809 yards and 15 TDs while catching eight passes for 278 yards and two TDS. Also back are Senior RB Parks Burt [564 yards, 6 TDs,] and Senior FB Trace Roy [447 yards, 2 TDs.]  Enterprise returns four starters on the offensive line. On defense Enterprise returns eight starters from a defense that averaged 12.3 points a game. Senior DE Isiaah Baum [60 tackles. one QB sack, one INT] and senior defensive tackles Percell Lindsey [35 tackles] and Ryland Heathcock [55 tackles, one QB sack, one fumble recovery] are back to form a strong front seven. Burt [42 tackles, one QB sack, two fumble recoveries] and Roy [31 tackles. two fumble recoveries] are back at linebacker. Sims [16 tackles, one INT] returns and cornerback while junior Ridge Jackson [52 tackles, one INT] returns at free safety while senior Jake Shelby [30 tackles, three INTs, one fumble recovery' returns at strong safety. ON special teams Roy returns for his fourth year at placekicker. Last year he made 43 of 48 PAT attempts and made one of three field goal attempts. He will also handle punting and kickoff duties.

Enterprise stay 3A next year with 7 classifications?

Counting last years 8-11 grades which is this years 9-12 most likely dropping to 2A. But they changed it to only the 9-11 grades come October 1st. Counting 8-10 grades last year they are border line. I believe they will be 2A. Interesting thought is will they be in Region 5 2A with Kemper County, Clarkdale,  Newton, Philadelphia  or in Region 8 with Richton, Collins, North Forest, and Bay Springs. Only 5 schools in a region. It will be interesting to see what they do with Raleigh and Mize. Both in Region 8 or Region 6. Likely Velma Jackson is going Region 3 and maybe Pisgah.

Enterprise will be one of the favorites in 2A in 2023 in we drop. Bay Springs and Raleigh will have a big drop off after this year.

Raleigh's junior class is pretty tough. The drop-off will be 24. However coach Hig can coach to. You never know.
