The Enterprise Bulldogs assured that with a 21-14 win over the Magee Trojans, last year's Champs. Bulldog Junior RB Trace Roy scored the game winning TD with a little more than a minute left to send EHS into the third round of the 3A Playoffs and move EHS to 12-0 on the year. Enterprise has only won 12 games in a single year twice before in school history. Enterprise kicked off to Magee to start the game. The Bulldogs defense forced Magee to punt. EHS took over and scored on its first possession on a ten yard run by Senior QB Derryon Gray. Roy added the PAT and Enterprise led 7-0 with 7:36 left in the first quarter. The teams traded possessions before Magee started its scoring drive. The Trojans scored when Magee QB Tristan Newsome faked a pitch and raced 42 yards for a TD. Magee's Gavin Chaffin added the PAT and Enterprise and Magee were tied 7-7 with 9:36 left in the second quarter. EHS took the ensuing kick and drove 70 yards in 12 plays. Bulldog junior RB Parks Burt scored on a two yard run and Roy kicked the extra point and Enterprise reclaimed the lead 14-7 with 4:44 left in the second quarter. EHS Kicked off to Magee and the Bulldogs' defense clamped down forcing a Magee punt and preventing any chance of Magee scoring and gaining any type of momentum and EHS went into halftime leading 14-7. Enterprise received the kickoff to start the second half. The Bulldogs drove down to the Magee 15 yard line before EHS attempted a Field Goal and Trace Roy's attempt was blocked by Magee. Magee then took over and scored on a 55 yard run by Magee RB Braeden Gregory. Chaffin's PAT tied the score at 14 with 1:35 left in third quarter. The Bulldogs and the Trojans then traded punts until Enterprise took over with about five minutes left and drove for the winning score as time wound down. Roy scored the winning TD on a two yard run to make the final score 21-14. The Bulldogs kicked off to Magee; who had less than a minute to save their season and possibly repeat as 3A Champions. The Trojans last hope ended when Blake Wilkins sacked Newsome on Magee's final play. Enterprise had 394 total yards, all on the ground. Zee Sims had 96 yards on 16 rushes, Gavyn Dear also had 96 yards on 14 rushes, Derryon Gray had 78 yards on 14 carries and one TD; Parks Burt had 68 yards on 12 carries and one TD; and Trace Roy had 54 yards on 18 carries and one TD. Ryland Heathcock led EHS with six tackles, and Heathcock, Blake Wilkins and Gavyn Dear each had a QB sack. Trace Roy kicked three extra points. Enterprise outgained Magee 394-202 in total yards. Magee was held to 175 yards rushing and 27 yards passing. Enterprise Travels to Bassfield Friday to play Jefferson Davis Co.; Magee ends its season at 8-3.
