Score Predictions for Picayune vs. Long Beach

Long Beach has surrendered 35+ points in every game this year. In region play alone, they are giving up about 50 points a game defensively. Conversely, they are averaging roughly 10 points a game in region play on offense. I appreciate your optimism about this game, but if I just do not see any scenario in which they keep it that close with Picayune. I'll take the Tide 56-7 in this one. Long Beach has a long road ahead. Not sure why they are as bad as they have been the past few seasons, but something has to change. Decent community, great school. They should at least be competitive.

i dont mean to be heartless but i hate the damned running clock. i say let the backups get some time in a real game. i pay for a ticket and with a running clock i am back at my parked car before my engine even cools off.

skip the running clock. put in the backups and let both teams get some work in and give the fans a little entertainment. otherwise, what happens? somebody gets their feelings hurt because they came unprepared for a 4 quarter game? punt that.

All the coach for the team winning has to say he doesnt want a running clock and that will take care of that situation. Just because the losing coach wants it doesnt mean its going to happen.

yeah...neither coach should want it.

Years ago Hattiesburg was playing a team i wont name, but they were winless and it was the last game of the season. The coach told the officials before the game he wanted a running clock whenever he got behind by 35 because he wanted to be at his deer camp by 1am. Sure enough it was 33-0 at half and he still wanted a running clock. HHS won 40-0 and the game was over at 845.

@Vott - I would really love to know if you know if that coach was brought back for another season or not because, clearly, his priorities were out of whack.

I think I've had enough. I'm moving my kid to D'iberville to play for Coach Dolan. Already put in an offer on a house.

Dont make that public, the MHSAA will make him inelgible for moving for athletic purposes. LOL

They care about where I move to?

They may not, but I will put it like this, thats where all of this recruiting BS comes in. If you move the coaches from the other teams in the area could want to know the reason and the MHSAA could look into it and if they find that you moved just to play football for another school he could be ruled inelgible.  If a parent wants to take his child out of school with a bad team and give him or her a chance to better themselves by going to a better team, then so be it.
