Enterprise vs. SE Lauderdale

Enterprise routed the SE Lauderdale Tigers 48-14 Friday to win its first District Championship in 15 years and improve to 9-0; its best start since 1987. Senior Bulldog QB Derryon Gray got the scoring started for EHS on a 50 yard TD run with 7:37 left in the 1st quarter. Trace Roy added the extra point. Enterprise scored 28 points in the second quarter. Zee Sims scored on a 20 yard TD run; then Gray scored again on a 40 yards TD run; Sims scored again on a 35 yard TD run and then caught a 70 yard TD pass from Gray with seven seconds left in the First half. Roy was 4-4 on PATs as Enterprise took a commanding 35-0 Halftime lead. 

Enterprise played its B team during the entire second half and the second teamers struck early in the second half. Jayce Gunn scored on a 24 yard TD run to give EHS a 41-0 lead with nine minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Southeast scored on a long TD pass to make the score 41-7; then the second teamers embarked on a long TD drive converting two fourth downs along the way. Freshman Tanner Sanders scored on a one yard run and Roy added the PAT to make the score 48-7 in the fourth quarter. SE Lauderdale scored on another long TD pass to close out the scoring. 

Enterprise finished with 422 total yards; 312 yards rushing and 110 yards passing. Gray led EHS in rushing with 2 carries for 70 yards and two TDs. Zee Sims had 53 yards on four carries and Two TDs. Harris Burt had 42 yards on four carries; Jayce Gunn had 37 yards on five carries and one TD; and Tanner Sanders had 4 carries for 26 yards and one TD. Gray was 4-5 for 110 yards and one TD. Sims had 3 catches for 95 yards and a 70 yard TD reception; and Isiah Baum had one catch for 15 yards. On defense Gavyn Dear led EHS with 11 tackles; Parks Burt had five tackles and Isiah  Baum had three tackles. Blake Wilkins and Nathan Bennett each had a QB sack and Ridge Jackson had an interception. Enterprise hosts Forest on Thursday for Senior Night and then hosts the # 4 seed from Region 8 on Nov. 5, which looks like will be either Seminary or Perry Central.
