Have you seen Bay Springs? Are they a good group?

They are usually in the mix and having close games with defending 2A champs Cohoama County years in and year out in the state semifinals. A few of their last meeting with Coahoma County where one possession games and overtime games between their meetings.

2A is probably Coahoma County. They will be stronger with Coahoma Aggie changing to a college prep school. A lot of students and athletes there at Coahoma Aggie got merged into Coahoma County and Maybe a few to Clarksdale. Aggie have had some strong teams and those guys mixed with Coahoma County guys should be a very strong team.

Byers boys returned the whole team.  I watched them almost beat Ingomar at Ingomar in north half

They should be strong along with defending champs Biggersville. The Delta 1A schools are in the South in basketball and all other sports other than football. Bay Springs and probably athletic teams like Taylorsville and West Lowndes is probably who the Delta schools will will have to keep an eye on to get to Jackson.

McEvans (Shaw) have been playing mostly freshmen mixed in with 1-3 seniors and 1-2 juniors and was getting significant playing time, growth, experience and achieved 2 state semi-final appearances the past 2 years against some very good competition. Last years team was a sophomore starting lineup with 1 senior. Now those then freshmen 2 years ago and now juniors heavy led team got 2 years to try and pull off a championship. Maybe not deep in depth but who knows who may have worked and developed over the summer.

I would love to hear more on what is Byers and Bay Springs style of play. I believe Byers took Ingomar to overtime and many said Byers should have beaten Ingomar. I also believe Bay Springs may have gotten some championships if Coahoma County wasnt in their way. It should definitely be a fun year with more competitive basketball teams in 1A this year.
