Also, I've heard they are getting one heck of a football coach as an OC. I expect to see them back on top quickly.

They have won 3 State Championships in 5 years and made 4 appearances in that time. I think if I'm a 1A-3A team, I might look elsewhere before picking up a game with them.

I don't think it's very difficult for teams like Long Beach to schedule games. I think it's more difficult for good teams like Picayune, Oak Grove, JDC, West Jones, Taylorsville and so on because not many coaches willing to voluntarily go take a whoopin.

I wouldn't really consider that recruiting personally. I mean the kid has to live in that district technically and isn't being given anything (scholarship) at least as far as we know. Now if a kid just up and transfers from a school like say Poplarville to a school like Petal, that I would consider to be recruiting. But the privates aren't constrained to residency rules.

I don't think you can consider them to be on a level playing field with schools the same size when they can go and pick off good athletes from poor schools and put them on scholarship. Less total kids isn't necessarily a disadvantage especially when you making an all star team.

Petal is based off of hearsay. I've heard they got a big time move in QB from Biloxi and that their 9th grade class was loaded this past year. I could be wrong. Gulfport returns a lot from last year. They were young and probably will end up picking up a couple players from Long Beach and D'Ville.

NF had no coach last year and they will have a championship caliber coach this year. I expect them to have a big turnaround.

Yea, I'm thinking that Ocean Springs will be in the same place it was three years ago once that QB graduates. I'm definitely gonna have to talk to my boys and figure out what we're gonna to do now.
