  1. From the Handbook-(With the beginning of fall football practice, players shall not wear football pads of any kind, football togs or football jerseys. Week 1 (Monday through Friday) helmets, face guards, mouthpieces and shoes are legal for the first week of practice (5 days). Week 2 Monday through Friday, shoulder pads can be worn – shorts/shoulder pads and helmets. After the completion of weeks 1 and 2, players can begin to practice in full gear.)
  2. You are wrong on that statement. It clearly states in the handbook 5 days(M-F) only helmets
  3. WHat? Why? Hattiesburg will get nothing from this. Moss Point is TERRIBLE

My understanding is they had to change terminology due to so many schools new schedules are not traditional by calendar of the old terms of "60 days prior"

They do in fact must be "licensed" by the Ms Dept of Ed. Not a custodian, or aide or etc. Therefore they had to legitimately MOVE to this area

I thought they had to be certified staff?
  7. Good points. HC has to finish above .500 this year AND compete for #2 according to the fanbase as I hear it.
  8. Yes they backed into the playoffs at #4 with a 2-3 district record and 5-6 overall. They have to finish with a winning record this year that's why you see the schedule changed this year.
  9. Also safe to say there's also more talent on his schedule as well, so things balance out there.
  10. There is NO CHANCE of Harrison Central being 3rd. Best they can pray for is 4th. D'Iberville should be 3 if they don't find a way to screw it up and Biloxi 4
  11. S1nglewing is 100% correct.
  12. There are tons of schools whose stadiums in Mississippi do not meet that 10 foot guideline you are suggesting

You are soooo correct . It's who you know for sure!

P.O Box is not "supposed" to count for verified established residence, and any school has the right to do do "checks" on that type of situation but they don't. Most just use relatives house addresses in the district and say they "moved". Another exploited area is that of "custody" / separation and kids bouncing from parent to parent residences. Idf the MHSAA really cared , they'd create a legitimate enforcement branch of their organization, but they don't care.
  15. It's clear you and I don't see eye to eye on things but at least in America we can agree to disagree.

They can go wherever they choose but they have to "move" and establish residence as the rules state. Unless you're saying abandon rules and go anyplace you want to go? Then you get schools talking tax money they're not getting etc... Didn't Gpt just get a QB who has been to 3 different schools in the past 3 years?
  17. You are correct. Most is hype and BS. Then there's those "travel" and "7 on 7" gurus that take money from kids and build egos
  18. I tend to agree with you overall on that statement.
  19. I still place a lot of blame on the lack of leadership in the MHSAA and lack of rule enforcement byt them. Even when cases are brought to them, it comes down to "who you know" up there. I feel safe in saying that everyone on this site knows of an example or two where kids live outside school attendance areas but still attend and play elsewhere.
  20. Portal force is strong with this one.
  21. Is that really their bleachers? That's ridiculous
  22. What schools do not provide uniforms for all sports? I've never heard of this in Mississippi. Never heard of any sport, male or female, having to buy their own uniforms.
  23. From the Coast aspect, I heard Gulfport looked pretty decent versus Daphne . I was at the D'Iberville spring game versus Meridian and Meridian looked dang awful The Warriors had their way with them. Ladner feels the Warrior offense will carry them deep into the playoffs this year. He feels they will contend for the district title as long as their defense doesn't let him down. Long Beach sounds improved as well. Pass is talented and will be very successful as long as they all stay in Pass
  24. It is posted twice on page 1 of the topic SPRING GAMES in the topic listing.
