Rebel Bert
Sounds like Region 5 in Class 4A, 3A, 2A will be totally changed. Louisville and Noxubee may both come South, stay North or split North-South. Quitman knocks McLaurin back to Region 6 maybe. On second thought Class 3A Region 5 could be Quitman, Noxubee, McLaurin, Louisville, and SE Lauderdale providing that Scott Central, Raleigh, and whomever remain 2A remains 2A. Class 2A Region 5 will have Kemper, Clarkdale, Enterprise Clarke Newton, and Bay Springs. Looks like Scott Central and Lake moving to Region 6. Raleigh becomes a toss up probably Region 8. Otherwise we may have Leake County and Scott Central going 2A North. St Andrew's was the largest 2A school in 2A in 2022. Pisgah is expected to be 3A as well with growth in NE Rankin County. You also have Heidelberg. They would likely be with bay springs, Newton, and enterprise and clarkdale. Kemper may have to be in 2A north. If Tville stays in 1A, you may could add Heidelberg to the same region they are in now. If Tville moves back up to 2A, then you would likely have Tville, Mize, North Forrest, Richton, and East Marion in the same region. Depending on how many east Marion and richton actually have. And then also Perry central if they happen to move down.

Sebastopol would be the largest 1A in R7. The new 2A South: Region 5: Enterprise Clarke, Clarkdale, Heidelberg, Bay Springs, Newton, Lake *Scott Central goes North. Region 6: St Andrew's, Raleigh, Pisgah, Pelahatchie, Puckett, Mize Region 7: Loyd Star, Jefferson County, Wesson, Wilkinson County, Amite County, West Lincoln Region 8: Bogue Chitto, Collins, Richton, North Forrest, Perry Central, OLA I personally would not have a problem shifting Wesson, Mize, Bogue Chitto to 6,7,8 respectively. I can live with 32 in 4A if Mendenhall is willing to be in North Mississippi with only 5 classes. That the way it will be for 5 classes 6A, 5A, and 4A being 32 or 36 schools. We had to play NE Lauderdale 2 times in 85. No 5A. I also remember the old original B, BB, A, AA system early 80s.

It would give some additional competitive balance to the lower classes while ensuring the "gap" at the top isn't too large. I confess the gap between the top and bottom of 6A was a legit concern but it should have been addressed by making 6A 24 teams and the same with 5A. The small schools will keep consolidating and while that isn't a large number, I suspect on average there will be one per year due to enrollment declines and financial difficulties in districts. Rebel Bert
26 minutes ago, TigersFan said: Has anyone actually seen numbers that show what cut offs will be? No official numbers have been released to the public. I feel like the ADs and football coaches have those numbers. There is a period of time normally that schools can dispute the numbers. They also can suggest being in a particular region. Usually that's for schools like Tupelo, Oxford who way want to stay Region 1 vs Region 2. Rebel Bert
No official meeting listed of the board thru November 22. So it's either a matter of just posting everything on line if and when the classes and regions are ready per sport. I suppose the meeting could be unknown to the public. Wait and see!
