Does anyone expect there to be any movement in 7A? Does Murrah come back to MHSAAA after this year or stay out forever.

Coast wise I am hearing West Harrison is expected to move up and Hancock possibly as well. I read in another thread there was talk of Meridian maybe going down to 6A as well.

Would mean that PRC would move to coast region and Meridian in region 3. Who would fill WH's spot though I wonder? If both Hancock an WH move up.

I would say for sure Pearl River moves to 4. If both Hancock and West Harrison were to move up, I would imagine Hattiesburg joins the region. They usually are the odd man out to join the coast region in those situations.

True but with Jim Hill already independent it makes me wonder if they'd move a team out. I guess if Meridian moved in then it would equal out.

Would have to see if Murrah gives up independence as well.  Wouldn't they be an option for R2 or R3 in 6A ??

Murrah was R2 7A

Jim Hill was R3 6A

Both will still be in their respected classes as to where their numbers fall.

The big question is will other schools in those football regions push for a school to move up to keep the numbers in football regions at 6 thus mesding with smaller classes.

It makes no sense for either Murrah or Jim Hill to remain independent.  With a 6 team region, you'll play 5 division and 5 non-division games (6 non-division games if you don't have a bye).  They also can't schedule a bunch of small 1A schools either.   Let those boys play for something and try to make the playoffs.  Mathematically the odds of making the playoffs in a six team region is already in your favor.  By playing independent you don't get that and your wins and losses are essentially for naught, unless they have some sort of nostalgic value.

Forest Hill is the only Jackson school that beat the deadline to submit reclassification forms. Jim Hills numbers should go up pending how many students they took in from Wingfield closing.

What happens when schools fail to submit their reclassification numbers prior to the deadline?  Do they get an extension or if not, what numbers do they use for them?

They'll be "threatened " with a fine from the MHSAA and given a good stern lecturing LMFAO

From my understanding, if they stay independent again, it will effect all sports this time.

Yes . The MHSAA will BULLY them back in. The MHSAA will tell them if they play independent in one sport then ALL sports will have to play independent. Extortion in the modern day

Schools have a right to go independent. They have a responsibility to turn in numbers and desired sports their going to participate in so the director can place them in correct classification and region per sport.
