Well guys it’s the beginning of the new year which means off-season workouts should now be in full swing. As a former coach and athlete, this was the time of the year Rosedale was buzzing for some spring and fall football. The 5x State Champions are starting to show me they are dedicated just by their eagerness to workout individually and ask repeatedly in grades 7th - 11th about team weight lifting workouts. It’s an exciting time to be a WB Eagle. The level of enthusiasm and support as well as connections to just sit back and let things come together brick by brick is back. Stay tune as I post updates on players that are starting to gain attention statewide as prospects. The camps this summer will feature West Bolivar players for the first time in years. There’s nothing like Friday Night Lights. And there’s nothing like seeing a group of kids take ownership in reaching a high standard to carry on the tradition. Rosedale is a football town like no other!

I haven’t heard much about the Clarksdale High coaching search. Coach Johnson built a good staff there so maybe the best option is in-house. Clarksdale should still be good because the program was left in a great position under his leadership. Matter of fact, I hope some day Coach Johnson comes back to Rosedale. He should end his legacy right here at West Bolivar where it started and with the players coming up he’ll compete for another championship.  Coach Johnson at West Bolivar was the best sports era Bolivar Co. and the Delta had seen since Coach Leland Young at Rosedale (West Bolivar) High back in the 80s - 90s. The sportswriters now are having to make the most basic headline out of a major story especially when it comes to basketball. If Coach Johnson comes back, just know the road to a Championship will run through Rosedale once again. Get your popcorn ready 🚨❗

I got an idea who you are now. I agree with you on one thing you said, “nobody will tell me.” Nobody will tell me because there’s not a single person in this community.. community leader, coach, stakeholders who have the integrity to speak the truth. Nobody stands up for the players. The program has been and is being sabotaged. It doesn’t need to be saved because it’s not dead. What’s dead at West Bolivar is LEADERSHIP. Kids can’t lead themselves. At West Bolivar, football is the only sport that has who multiple district titles in the last 5 -10 years. If you think Henry Johnson can’t turn around West Bolivar.. when Tavares Johnson turned around a Simmons program that had multiple losing seasons prior to his arrival it says a lot about you not West Bolivar. And you same people saying 7v7 means nothing.. would be praising a basketball player for performing on the AAU circuit. So what you could do is keep those thoughts to yourself because I’m getting as many upcoming WB players ready for the season that is ready to put in the work prepared for the year. And they will prove you and the other folks who sitting around hoping they fail like the rest of the athletic program has FAILED wrong. Get your popcorn ready 🚨❗️.

  • 2 weeks later...

Huge week of players committing to join IronEagle Athletics. Every skill player that has joined plays multiple sports.. which is the reason West Bolivar boys basketball team is playing for the district championship tonight vs. West Tallahatchie!

Also I might add, the same local football Coach who I mentioned called me last year talking down on West Bolivar didn’t respond when I reached out this week after West Bolivar came in their gym and knocked off the top seed. People if we’re truly doing this for kids there’s no place for bias against a program or people associated with a school. That’s why I know for certain recruiting services, scout, etc are definitely not doing this for the right reasons.

People constantly talk down on WB both on the outside and inside.. they definitely don’t want to see football get back to it glory days but it’s coming no doubt.

2025 ATH and top 5 in ‘25 MS at DB that I’ve seen after watching several on film & in person has a camp invite next week in Jackson, MS. The player deferred their spot on the top 7v7 15U team in MS to focus on track & spring football! Get your popcorn ready…

West Bolivar doing some recruiting!!!

Which West Bolivar school you referring to? The 5x State Champions West Bolivar formerly known as Rosedale High is home grown talent! No recruiting at all. The Jr. High and High School both loaded with talent..

Just two off seasons into the movement, and IronEagle Athletics already training D1 athletes out of West Bolivar. This going to be a busy summer. 1 on 1 sessions with Position Specialists, Under Armor Representatives out of Jackson, Ms. Despite being the home of the 5x State Champions this hasn’t happened since the Coach Henry Johnson and the late Coach Leland Young eras. Producing D1 athletes! No wonder it’s a coup to keep IE off the sidelines.. they never saw this movement coming though. Nothing compares to West Bolivar football and I’m going to stay in the trenches! Get your popcorn ready. We on a new level!

Yes, they’re WB Eagles. With these young student athletes and my leadership things are taking a turn at West Bolivar. No more sabotage. No more allowing other coaches or athletic administrators to hurt our primary sport which is football. These kids truly believe in representing West Bolivar tradition.

Something happened yesterday at an athletic event that fully affirmed the powerful impact that positive well rounded mentorship, education, and IRONEAGLE athletics has in this Rosedale community. My own personal team of supporters who range from family members, coaches, school administrators, parents, colleagues, etc have told me that they’ve never quite seen young students respond to an adult male/coach without 10+ years or so of experience the way they have to my leadership. There’s no male sport coaches reaching the kids where they are and elevating them to greatness. Yesterday, several athletes approached me and our conversation is what has inspired me more than I’ve been over the past year. There’s one simple thing I’m doing better than anyone else. Listening to what they’re saying and finding solutions. I simply am showing them the true side of reality while being genuine about their future. If a kid has a future in something and we’re neglecting that opportunity for them to successfully pursue their dream then we’ve failed at our job. It’s time we step aside.

Change is coming.

People usually say that when either 1.) the truth being spoken is a threat to them 2.) Someone they associate with is part of the issue

So working with kids that are being neglected, giving them exposure that otherwise they’ll never experience, and having permission from parents who are well aware of the situation means I’m more about IE? I’ll take that any day of the week instead of doing what others have allowed to be done.

You just use the words my and I a lot. Also refer to yourself in the 3rd person too.. So it is easy to paint the picture it is more about you. Not saying it is. Just trying to elaborate on the point I believe he is making.

The reason being is that this same message I give on SportsTalk, I speak it in person. I don’t hide who I am and what I’m standing up for because at some point all people intentionally hurting kids need to be held accountable.
Just look at the history of West Bolivar football. There’s no justification for how things are being done.I’m just speaking in general. Don’t let anyone convince you it is because of lack of interest in football.
There are kids every single day seeking answers to why things aren’t stable with football. If there were more people showing genuine concern and empathy for these kids current situation then you would never have to here “my” and “I” from me again. Just do right by kids or as I said step aside.

No school in the Delta outside of Clarksdale High and Leflore Co. have the kind of talent West Bolivar has coming up from 10th grade on down. I saw someone make a baseless claim about people picking a school site in WBCSD over WB… WB enrollment grew this school term and we have nearly 30 + more HS students than McEvans.

If people gave the players and students the leadership they are asking for then we’ll be the program that can actually compete with and beat schools like Bay Springs and Hollandale. We beat Hollandale in 2019 after having a down year.

Give our kids a chance is all I’m saying and the bottom line is that’s the right thing to do.

Rosedale was 9-3 in that 2019 "down" year and you were crowing like a sunrise rooster until Richton happened. Hollandale went 5-6.

Now last year was a real down year for Rosedale.

Played 11 of those games with a 9th grade QB cause the starter had an ACL injury. Against Richton we had a lot of suspensions that game. Richton went on to advance to the 3rd Round of the playoffs that year if I’m not mistaken so I don’t get your point. They were playing good at the end of the season. Also, I’m saying  leadership is responsible for making the right decisions. Under the most successful coaches who guided this program this would’ve never persisted long term. Kids respect people who carrying themselves as leaders and work to earn their respect.  And the district titles won in 2019, 2016, and 2014 are the only district titles this school has won in any male sport since Coach Johnson left in 2012-2013. Football isn’t the issue here and it should definitely be the area where we are giving our student athletes a fair chance to compete. It would help turn the entire school culture around which benefits WB.

Sound to me like the whole administration can't hire adequate people to coach to me. One can't blame good parents for sending their kids to the school of their choice either. So there is no telling what is really going on in this situation.

The top athletes are still at WB. No kid is talking about going anywhere, they are asking the right questions to get a coach in place. They are focus on the spring game. And this young track team has some good athletes on it too.

Is Nolden no longer the coach?
