  1. If you were a photographer, you'd be advocating 6 PM kickoffs.
  2. I’m guessing you’ve never had to work on the sidelines? Give me a track & huge sidelines!
  3. This is an older topic, but in 5A, Neshoba Central has won 9 consecutive state championships. In 4A, Kosciusko has won 3 of the last 4.
  4. Former Noxapater HC Roy Rigsby is new HC at McAdams.
  5. If the article is wrong, and I’m not saying it is or isn’t, why doesn’t Tyler Cleveland or SBLive make a correction? Or how about MHSAA issuing a clarifying statement?
  6. Coaches, don’t get those schedules printed just yet!
  7. His daughter & her family live there.
  8. I’m a little surprised Tyler Peterson hasn’t been a factor in some openings. Of course, he may have been, just wasn’t public knowledge. A lot of names mentioned in these openings that appeared to be “public knowledge,” or “a done deal” were way off base & nothing more than fan speculation.
  9. It’s a bad idea to publicly state that you’re going to hire a guy with HC experience. If that guy doesn’t materialize, or a top assistant blows you away, it looks publicly like you settled for less.
  10. The schools don’t make a tremendous paycheck on the classic games. MHSAA gets a pretty good cut from that one. I’m not saying the schools don’t make anything, but it’s not as much as a lot of people think.
  11. I’m no expert, but John Perry & Prep seem like oil & water to me.
  12. It sounds like most are in favor of this, and I’m actually undecided. But something to think about is that districts are constantly consolidating. There aren’t nearly as many schools as there were when 6A was added. Fewer schools is always going to affect travel, & this usually means 1A.
  13. That's a tough place to start, for sure.
  14. I’ve always thought he would be a HC soon. He just has a HC persona.
  15. The more I think about this, the more unlikely I find it.
  16. I don’t have any information, but I wouldn’t think he’d be interested.
  17. The only game I’ve seen anyone ejected, a player got ejected for laying down on the field & slamming his hands on the ground in protest of a call. His coach quickly followed him out the gate. This occurred in the 6th inning, but I had told several people in the 2nd, “Someone is getting ejected tonight.” If the umpires had not been as cool headed as they were, there would’ve been more, & it would’ve happened earlier.
  18. I’m Jeff. I live near Kosciusko, & am a freelance photographer for several newspapers in Central Mississippi. I’ve covered schools in Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Holmes, Kemper, Leake, LeFlore, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, Walthall, Webster, Winston, Yalobusha, & Yazoo counties, & that number is still growing. I love what I do. If you see me at a game, hit me up. Just understand that if the game is going on, I won’t have but a minute.
  19. Most umpires I’ve seen are usually pretty lenient toward coaches. I think it’s because they know how much money it costs a coach to get ejected. I’ve seen some “discussions” that I’ve thought surely would lead to an ejection, but rarely have. But coaches probably have to know not to abuse that leniency. I’ve been covering HS baseball for 10 years, & I’ve only seen one coach & one player ejected.
