  1. The Hattiesburg guys don’t want to hear it but their best year in recent history got drilled by West Jones in the 2nd round. Past 3 years they’ve been 13-18… Tons of talent and little coaching regardless of how everyone feels about Tony Vance
  2. Years. Just like the Hattiesburg crew every year going to next levels and finishing with losing records
  3. Germantown had talent this year and did nothing. Going forward we will see but as long as MC is getting the Flora kids then Germantown will remain the same and MC will be dominant.
  4. DL is by far the most talented group we have. They should cause havoc. DB’s are solid. Would put them also as a strength especially if Kamauri Rodgers was playing. WR’s are by far the best group on the offensive side. OL is solid. RB’s are ok. Would be a great group if Branson was playing. QB’s may actually be the weakest group as far as the offense goes even though Barnett and Wilcke are decent.
  5. Well the results say we won a state championship and you had a losing record. 2 years ago you predicted Hattiesburg to go undefeated in the regular season and they proceeded to go 4-7. Don’t come at me with that Lol
  6. Daniel Hill is by far the best player on this list. Hate he got injured
  7. Looks like we found a MRA player. That you Mr. White?
  8. If only I could pull up posts from the old site. You know damn good and well every single Hattiesburg poster talks about how great the team is until they get rocked in the first few weeks. Then they were just young, talent left, refs screwed them.. etc.
  9. To add to my previous post, look around in college football at the best teams and you’ll find a good mix of the concepts used in both an air raid and Wing T or even the midline
  10. You can absolutely run the Wing T out of the spread. Many of the Oregon with Chip Kelly and West Virginia with Rich Rod proved this. All about motion, misdirection, and fakes. Same exact concepts with a back on one side of the qb, an up back (H-Back in today’s terms) and a slot guy motioning or coming in for a sweep like a wing back would do. It’s just evolved so much over the years. Now with the RPO offenses are many of the same concepts just tweaking it more and more. Yes the athletes have to be there in order to run the wing T. The air raid offense came about due to less talented teams spreading it around and getting open in space. A lot of timing routes involved. You could argue air raid receivers aren’t developed either because they don’t really have a route tree. There’s no reading the defense it’s about timing and being where you are supposed to be.
  11. Hattiesburg is a future state champ until the season starts. Every single year
  12. A lot of this would be like me saying the metro went all the way from Holmes County Central down to Magee, East to Scott Central and west to Vicksburg/Warren Central. But in reality the metro area teams are in Madison, Rankin, and Hinds County.
  13. I’ve always considered the “Pine Belt” area to be around 30 miles from Hattiesburg whether it be North, South, East, or West. Also would include Columbia and JDC, however Bay Springs and Wayne County would absolutely not be included. Poplarville is more closely related with Picayune and some of the southwest teams in MS than the pine belt
  14. Their 72 points today has never been done either. Great offense. Did not watch the game but was it as bad as the score?
  15. I feel like for MC this has been a long time coming and they finally broke the barrier to what they can accomplish going forward. Having been in the North State Championship 10 out of the last 15 years there is no way it should’ve taken this long, but man SP, Starkville, and Clinton with Akers always got us in the game before the state championship. As a former player from back when it really got going I congratulate these guys and hope that this got MC over the hump for the upcoming years. Big shoutout to Brandon for an outstanding season as I now live 3 miles from BHS. My kids will attend there and I will be a Bulldog when that happens, but I’ll always represent my home team and town that I grew up in and played for.
  16. It was mainly a single back shotgun with maybe an H-Back until the qb got hurt in round 2. Once the big backup came in it immediately run first. Credit to Brandon they made MC throw the ball more than they would have wanted to.
  17. 24-17 MC with around 5 minutes left. Been a great game so far.
  18. MC is currently without their qb but handled Starkville easily tonight. Brandon has been on a roll since week 2 when MC won 42-19. Completely different teams now and I hate that it’s in Hattiesburg instead of Jackson due to it being two metro teams. They could’ve possibly set an attendance record if it was.
  19. 31-7 MC. 4th quarter about to get started
  20. Nothing yet confirmed. However if he is out then we expect a heavy dose on the ground as normal with some short to medium balls.
  21. Not exactly if you get the context of “Let’s go Brandon” lol
  22. Because one school gives you a world class education. That alone is the difference. City, conference, etc does not matter when comparing the two. If a potential employer is looking at a resume and you have a degree from Vanderbilt vs Southern Miss they are taking the Vandy grad every time. Same could be said for Vandy vs the majority of any southern schools.
  23. You act like this is the only D1 player in the region. Starkville has multiple that are younger. MC has 3 or so. Germantown has the best DL in the state in Harris and one of the top 3 RB’s in the country that’s committed to Georgia. One guy doesn’t make a difference in this league.
  24. Yeah they will beat Murrah and probably go 1-1 against Clinton and Germantown. Would not surprise me if the lost to both however.
